if the mariners want to stay near the angels and in the wild card situation they better win this series.

tomorrows game between felix and harden should be interesting.

Our starting pitching has been really good lately, with the exception of Feirepieceofcrap. Every outing, the unit is giving us quality starts while going pretty deep in games.

As for tonight, it was another solid start from Weaver, even if he got his pitch count up way too high early on. Adrian Beltre was a beast, which was quite obvious. 5-5 with 4 extra base hits, and 13 total bases. @_@

Oh and how about Big Hit Bloomquist with that important single and steal?

I didnt get to see the game because of work, but by the looks of it, Felix completely dominated, while Beltre kept up his assault on A's pitching.

Oh for the love of God why the hell is that hack starting for us tomorrow? And here I was hoping to win the series. :nonono:

Have you followed what happened before the game? A fan managed to get a copy of a post on USS Mariner re: Felix pitch selection to him, and after reading that Felix suddenly started mixing his pitches instead of throwing fastball-fastball-fastball in the first innings.

Get this though. After the game, Hernandez gave credit to the so-called "Open Letter to Rafael Chaves" that the folks at USS Mariner wrote last week as a reason he mixed his pitches up so effectively in the early innings. The website has been stating repeatedly for the past two months that Hernandez had to stop throwing so many fastballs in a row. Chaves apparently had been telling Hernandez this as well, but when someone in the stands -- he didn't say where -- handed him the "letter" he passed it on to Hernandez for reinforcement.

"Chaves gave me a report,'' Hernandez said. "On the internet, they say when I throw a lot of fastballs in the first inning, they score a lot of runs. I tried to mix all my pitches in the first inning.''

Who else are we going to start? Everyone else that could be used is on the DL (HoRam, Baek). Give Fear Bend his last start, then bump him from the rotation after the Break...I don't really see any other option.

I didnt hear about that fan tip, but thats pretty funny. Although, anyone that follows Seattle could have told Felix that he was throwing too many fastballs. I guess our guys were a bit slow on that fact. :crazy:

Anyways, game isn't over yet (Although Putz is in), but looks like we just took 3 of 4 on the road against a divisional rival. Really great stuff, and I'm so thrilled that we are heading into the break on such a positive note.

2 1/2 back of Anaheim
1 1/2 back of Wild Card

I don't think there's one poster here that actually respects the A's, and the brawl (or lack thereof) only helps (word choice?) things.

I hate the A's. Always have, always will. Hate their players, hate their fans.

LOL @ the A's announcers saying Blanton did "nothing wrong." Yes, pushing an opposing player is A-OK in everyones book.

Props to Ellison for getting in Blanton's face. Kid wins a lot of points with me for that.

It's one thing if you're going for the ball and a player is deliberately blocking you. Ichiro had his back to the ball and appeared clueless about what was going on behind him. If Blanton shoved Ichiro in order to get the ball, then how come he stared at Ichiro and made no move for the ball after the shove?

It was a cheap shot, and the A's announcers are hacks if they think it's justified.
