Longtime Nets fans -- is the home season opener usually a sellout? What's the environment like for home games in the era of the crappy Nets? Do you anticipate that the excitement will be elevated this season? I'm thinking about attending the home opener against Indy.

Two games in two different arenas on Oct 28 is going to be tough.

don't expect a sell out unless Lin's presence really picks up attendance.

Looking at the schedule, we could possibly start the season easily 1-10 or 0-11.

reality now starts to set in. this team may not win more than 13 games

Yeah, Nets have always sold out season openers. The openers are usually the livest crowds out of the home games but I don't know what to expect this time around.

Yeah, in the first 10 games, only the Suns and Twolves look like winnable matchups. 2-8 would be decent, 3-7 would be good, 4-6 would be great. 1-9 will be a long year.

Saying that we can beat Phoenix is generous.

The Wolves? That squad has lots of talent. we will get rolled

First ten games:

Celtics Oct 26 Away
Pacers Oct 28 Home
Bucks Oct 29 Home
Bulls Oct 31 Home
Pistons Nov 02 Home
Hornets Nov 04 Home
Wolves Nov 08 Home
Knicks Nov 09 Away
Suns Nov 12 Away
Clippers Nov 14 Away

http://www.nba.com/nets/schedule/

In terms of opponents, it's not bad at all, as there no top-seeded teams besides the Clippers.

But the schedule is pretty brutal. Starts out with three games in four nights! ending with a back-to-back against the Bucks.

And the Knicks game at MSG is a back-to-back; on the plus side, the game before is at Barclays so the the game at MSG won't involve plane travel. But the Knicks will have had three nights of rest -- plenty of time for recovery and gameplanning.

On the positive side, there is a continuous two-week stretch in which they stay in NY (between Oct 27 to Nov 11), resulting in less fatigue and less time wasted on travel, and more time for rest and practice sessions.

Celtics Oct 26 Away => Lost
Pacers Oct 28 Home => Win
Bucks Oct 29 Home => Win
Bulls Oct 31 Home => Lost
Pistons Nov 02 Home => Lost
Hornets Nov 04 Home => Win
Wolves Nov 08 Home => Win
Knicks Nov 09 Away => Lost
Suns Nov 12 Away => Win
Clippers Nov 14 Away => Lost

Am I being too optimist here?
Very reasonable opponents to start with ...

Yes youre being too optimistic. But opponents won't take the Nets seriously and thus won't anticipate having to compete, so Nets might sneak off with some wins that way.

If we could beat Boston in the first game, I will consider the season a success.

Hi Guys,

I've noticed the "Internet Presale 1" starts in 3 hours.

http://www.ticketmaster.com/brooklyn-nets-vs-detroit-pistons-brooklyn-new-york-11-02-2016/event/0000510AA0F92256?artistid=805983&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=7

Do I need a special code to be able to get these tickets? or do I need to wait for the general public sales?

I'm visting NY for the 1st time from the United Kingdom and would love to be able to get to a game.

Looking at the Piston @ Nets tickets on Wed, Nov 02 2016 7:30 PM.

Cheers for any advice.

I think the average preseason prediction for total wins is about 25-30 wins, which is a 30-37% percentage. So 3 wins in the first 10 games would be good. 2 would be acceptable since it's early on. 4 would be great. 1 would be awful.

Celtics Oct 26 Away (L - definitely won't win an away game at Boston)
Pacers Oct 28 Home (L)
Bucks Oct 29 Away (W)
Bulls Oct 31 Home (L)
Pistons Nov 02 Home (L)
Hornets Nov 04 Home (L)
Wolves Nov 08 Home (W - winnable game against a 29 win team from last year)
Knicks Nov 09 Away (W)
Suns Nov 12 Away (W - winnable game against a 23 win team from last year)
Clippers Nov 14 Away (L - definitely won't win an away game at Clips)

We do not have the toughest schedule. I guess, ESPN must need to generate some form of August excitement for Boston since the Red Sox aren't cutting it.

The Knicks for example have the first 10 games against Cleveland, Memphis, Detroit, Houston, Chicago, Utah, Brooklyn, Boston, Toronto, Dallas. Their next 5? Detroit, Washington, Atlanta, Portland and Charlotte.

Nice try, ESPN.
