I'm only okay with keeping Noel if it's for a very reasonable price (ie anything under $16 million a year). If not, ship him out and transform Holmes into a solid rim protector, which I think he's very capable of.

If that is so easy to do, Philly really should do it regardless.

Cuz media guys mean squat, people with common sense know he's nowhere near Jah at all.

I think we can all agree that Kevin Love would be the player that Cleveland would offer in return for Noel, and I honestly think that is fair at this point in Loves career. However....A THIRD team would have to be involved. I personally want no part of KLove on this team at the moment, although him next to Embiid is interesting. No no, I think most definitely a third would get involved.

they would want another asset - they wouldn't do Love for Noel straight up... right? lol

I love Nerlens but he is being a whiny female this off-season.

Hopefully there are multiple teams with interest to drive up the price. I've made my stance known, I like both Noel and Okafor, but it's obvious that one actually wants to be here to play with and be apart of our core while the other does not - the latter also happens to be a FA next off season.

If something like this were to happen I would expect that it would be moving Love to a third team like Boston.

Yeah, he's probably realized that doesn't matter all that much.

Bryan has shown to have no clue about defense and team building in the past, so it makes sense that he wants to trade Noel. I assume he looks to bring in another high volume offensive type.

Noel for Kevin Love makes sense. That's a good deal for Cleveland. They're way into the luxury tax and Noel would be more useful to them than wasting 25 million per on Kevin Love. Hopefully the 76ers have a 3rd team involved for a decent guard.

Yeah, the smarter move would be to keep the defensive Center. But realistically, they probably have to trade Noel if they aren't willing to pay him. Nobody is going to offer anything for Okafor, so that kind forces them to trade Noel. As long as they get value for Noel, Embiid stays healthy and they put Okafor on the bench as the back-up center it will work out. Even though Noel is the better player, I can't beat them up about a trade too much, without knowing what other teams offered for both guys.

broseph13 wrote:Those wanting to trade Okafor in favor of Noel are insane.

Yea, trade a truly talented big who could turn into a 20/10 guy with a ridiculous offensive repertoire, acceptable defense, a solid 10-15 foot jumper, and 3 years left on rookie deal in favor of a guy who has zero offensive skills, terrible hands, couldn't even manage to 1 all-defensive team vote, who probably won't get much better than he already is, and who will want $20-25 million a yr next summer...

Okafor's skillset is very hard replace while Noel's (rim protection/hustle/dirty work) can be replaced much easier. Trade Noel and go find a much cheaper replacement somewhere else. Personally, I think a guy like Wood or Holmes could eventually be that replacement.

Where is this acceptable defense? And you don't think Jah will want a max in three years? And if we want to use All-Defense votes as a measure for Noel, I can just as easily ask why, with his "peerless" offensive skills, was Okafor nowhere to be found on the All-League teams?

Okafor's skill set is the same one that made Orlando trade Sabonis and Oladipo for Ibaka and then also sign Biyombo to a huge contract. Oh wait, I'm sorry, at least Vucevic can rebound.

I'm glad this thread isn't like the others with over the top hot takes on the team's bigs.
