I was waiting for this to be said... makes sense that if the Greek Freak grew that Ingram might not be done growing: http://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2016/7/12/12167702/la-lakers-news-brandon-ingram-still-growing-wingspan-stats

How big?
I'm going 6'10" 1/2
7'4" wingspan

To preserve the cap i guess

They probably still trying to unload Nick Young and take back a big contract

Not sure they're saving any cap-space by not signing him. I believe there's a cap-hold based on the draft order. I think it covers the max we could pay him regardless.
The only reason I can think of is that it's easier to trade his draft rights because they wouldn't have to wait for the after signing moratorium or whatever the call it. I think if they sign him and don't immediately trade him, they have to wait until like December before they can trade him.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it but, Ingram did seem like a different player the last 2 SL games... And he actually looked a little annoyed during the last game.
He's currently my favorite player on the team, so I hope they don't trade him...

So we are saving a little bit of cap space by not signing him. You probably know this but most teams (unless you're a really cheap team) give rookies 120% of the rookie scale just as a show of good faith. Not sure how it originated but almost every team does this.

Ingram's cap hold is on the books and then when he signs his contract that extra 20% of his rookie scale goes onto our books. I think its around $5.5 million so thats about an extra $1 million that were keeping in play by not signing him right now.

Yup cap hold isn't the whole max. I believe the moratorium is only around 30 days also if I remember correctly from the Wiggins - love trade. Cavs already signed Wiggins and they had to wait til the moratorium.

Until black is signed, I will still think it's a cap move though. They are the only 2 contracts that will not require cap space.

Ingram seems like a casual, mellow person and a nice 1st round steal for the Lakers. Few facial features about him that stood out most that may let others know about his personality and tendencies (simply my opinion and observation).

Think its safe to say that Ingram is someone who is competitive and driven (body type, among others).

His long brows suggests that he is someone who has the ability to maintain a lot of friendships (if short, doesn't mean one won't have any) and the ability to deal with “toxic information” when it comes into play. It's also nice to know that he can work with a broad range of personalities as well.

Think one of the main feature that sticks out most are his eyes.

The way how Ingram's upper eyelids comes down and covers a part of his iris in his eyes, means that he tends to be fair and objective and will always look at others' point of view. He may, however, be secretive about his own feelings. He might size someone up for quite a while before deciding whether to share what he truly thinks. In sum, he's actually someone private, and most people may never know the real truth inside him.

Another interesting feature is to look at the inner corners of his eyes. One will notice a curved shaped-like figure, sort of like the ends of an eagle's claw. Interestingly, this shows that Ingram has a sharp tongue and can intentionally lash out to someone who has injured him. While he may not do so every time, everyday and in front of the public all the time, the inner inclination, thoughts and desire remain there should a proper or similar situation develop.

Another interesting feature in his eyes is the presence of the white coating, or the sclera under his eyes (must be seen from eye-level, not when he looks up or down and vice versa). In his case, this would mean that he is currently under a lot of pressure and is overworked at the moment. He's tightly stressed and wound up and may take some things personally. Interestingly, the white coating appears in photos consistently a bit prior, during and after his draft into the Lakers, and not necessarily during his stay at Duke (I'm speculating that this could be the main reason for the stress he's experiencing; but there could be others I don't know about). It would be nice if he can blow off some steam and get his bearings in the meanwhile. With the right lifestyle adjustments, the eyes should resume its normal position (i.e. no sclera showing underneath eyes).

I do notice how his left eye (sometimes his right) slightly deviates from the middle, but not enough to make an accurate assessment. Will probably have to get another look at him several years down the line to see if it means something (reserve the right to change this small part).

His hairline suggests this is someone who is a hard worker, and the horizontal lines across his forehead (when he raises his eyebrows in conversation) shows that he's experienced emotions during his teens (like most, regardless of gender or race). I see a very slight (miniscule) horizontal crease on his forehead along those lines, meaning this is someone who values logic and common sense (so if you're a coach and you want to get something across ...); he also wants to move forward without obstacles.

Indented temples are also present, with the right photo, camera angle and lighting. This shows Ingram has a tendency towards compulsive or addictive behavior. Doesn't mean he's a drug addict; it could mean he has a “workaholic personality” where he puts in long hours or may be easily hooked on exercise. The entire list falling under this umbrella of compulsive/addictive behavior would be drugs, alcohol, excessive exercise, compulsive work, sex. It's possible that he is also someone who is highly spiritual, someone with addictive tendencies, or both.

Full lips suggest he is an sensual, emotionally expressive person. Naso labial or lines around mouth, means that he is good at communication and highly verbal.

People like Ingram enjoy activities similar to running, mountain biking, backpacking, strength training, something competitive and outdoors (like Zubac). Anytime his energy his low, the best place to revitalize is once again outdoors or out in nature (of all the things he likes, I believe he enjoys fishing?) as it generally does better than a nap for this type of person.

While moving towards his goal, he should be sure to yield to others' opinions and needs (a bit easier said then done, but doable for someone like him). He has a strong engine inside him that will propel him towards his goal. He is someone who is resilient, not overly sensitive and doesn't get bogged down with time processing feelings. He also carries the ability for being flexible as well so when he experiences storm-like trials, he won't crack and break but will bend like a long, lanky tree in a hurricane. Once those winds subside, like a surviving tree, Ingram is the type of person who'll most likely bounce and snap back up.

being reported Ingram will sign tomorrow... which means we're pretty much done with the offseason, sign Ingram and Black and then they'll probably waive/buyout Young

They tried to lure Yi last year too, though. Tough to say. I'm sure there were a number of options they were looking at.
