NFL Team You Hate: Pittsburgh Steelers
NFL Team That is Overrated: I feel like maybe the Chiefs? I suspect that one of the Raiders (but not the Raiders), Redskins or Vikings will underwhelm this year.
NFL Team That is Underrated: Maybe the Cowboys or Ravens. I also think the 49ers could win more games than expected. People think they will be terrible. I think they could merely be bad and possibly even mediocre.
NFL Team You Love: The freaking Ravens.
NFL Team You Secretly root for: Not so secretly a Patriots admirer.
NFL QB Favorite All Time: Joe Flacco then Jeff George then Warren Moon.
NFL QB Favorite Current: Joe Flacco.
Favorite all time NFL player: Offense - Non-QB I'm assuming. Jamal Lewis.
Favorite all time NFL player: Defense - Ed Reed.
Most Fond NFL Memory: (this can change with the weather) Ed Reed sets all time NFL record for longest INT return vs. Browns.

Haha, I went with non-Panthers players on those to make it more interesting. I've always loved Ray Lewis though, the intensity and fire the guy played with every single game was just so easy to see. I also love that he stuck in Baltimore for all 17 years of his career and was a force all the way to the end. Just a monster.

One of the most random events of my life was meeting him in the small town of Logan, Utah a couple months ago. I was getting dinner with my family at Texas Roadhouse, and in walks Mr. Ray Lewis himself. Talked to him very briefly, he was in town with his son on a recruiting visit to Utah State (he ended up committing and signing on).

I didn't even realize you were a Chargers fan. It's funny the team I was going to list as team I hate is Patriots too, and you'd think we'd pick Denver, Oakland or KC, but I just despise NE. I was having trouble deciding on one fond memory but that was a great satisfying game.

NFL Team You Hate:Patriots

NFL Team That is Overrated:This is tough for me this year. Sounds funny but maybe Jacksonville because I've seen people predict playoffs and I think it's a little premature for that.

NFL Team That is Underrated:I almost want to say Cardinals due to their Over/Under total, but did notice they have like 4th best super bowl odds, so probably doesn't make sense, so I will say Colts.

NFL Team You Love:Chargers

NFL Team You (not so) Secretly root for:Cardinals

NFL QB Favorite All Time:Rivers (narrowly beating out Fouts partially because I only really saw the last half of Fouts' career) Non Charger probably Kurt Warner...loved watching him on Rams and Cards

NFL QB Favorite Current:Rivers

Favorite all time NFL player: Offense - Gates edging out Tomlinson

Favorite all time NFL player: Defense - Jamal Williams

Most Fond NFL Memory: Probably starting a season 4-8, winning the last four to win the division at 8-8 and then culminating in a very satisfying OT playoff victory at Indianapolis off a monster game of Darren Sproles.

Though probably the most unbelievable playoff run was 94 where the Chargers made a super improbable comeback from being down 21-6 against Miami to win 22-21 and then in the next game had a monster four down stand and final bat down ball at the end zone to preserve a victory against the heavily favored Pittsburgh Steelers who in all likelihood would have standed a much better chance against the 49ers that year in the Super Bowl.

What a crazy ending to a game. And then they STILL get it back, drive it well into Vandejagt's range, and he misses. Also "one for the thumb" is stupid because no player has 5. Maybe a Rooney does but that's about it.

I was actually rooting for Pittsburgh to upset Indy that year. Little did I know, they would later benefit greatly from the guys in striped shirts. That was an awful...awful day. :censored: Jerome Bettis.

It was almost a really awful day for one fan.
Talk about a heart-stopping game between the
Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts.

Terry O'Neill, 50, of Pittsburgh, was watching the game at a bar and had a heart attack seconds after Jerome Bettis fumbled trying to score from the 2-yard line late in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger prevented the Colts' Nick Harper from returning the recovered ball for a touchdown and the Steelers hung on for a 21-18 win.

O'Neill said Bettis is his hero.

"I wasn't upset that the Steelers might lose," he said. "I was upset because I didn't want to see him end his career like that. A guy like that deserves better. I guess it was a little too much for me to handle."

O'Neill, who was recovering at a hospital, credits two firefighters with saving him.

"The Steelers won the game and I'm still alive, so I guess I'm doing pretty good," he said.

He will have a pacemaker implanted to control an irregular heartbeat and he was prescribed medication to deal with the hypertension.

And while he would like to go to the bar to thank the guys who saved him, O'Neill said, "but for the most part I guess I should probably take it easy and watch the game at home."
