funny reaction to trade "rumor"

Post#1 » by snaquille oatmeal » Mon Aug 15, 2016 4:14 pm

this guy's paranoia is hysterical
http://www.denverstiffs.com/2016/8/15/12479996/trade-rumor-harris-faried-for-randle-young

A trade rumor has surfaced that involves the Nuggets trading Gary Harris and Kenneth Faried to the Lakers in return for Julius Randle and Nick Young.

Despite being someone that has advocated (only partially seriously) for acquiring Nick Young, this is an awful trade. Harris was part of the Team USA Select team. He is a talented young guard. He is nails on defense, and his offensive game is growing.

Faried began to show off chemistry with Mudiay towards the end of the season. He tried so hard on defense, and has such a high ceiling on that end. He's an incredible vertical threat in the pick and roll, using his ability to soar above the defense to vertically stretch the defense. He has great value to the Nuggets.

Making this trade would be a mistake. Randle isn't a starter for the Lakers, a team that won so many games they had the second-worst record in the league last season. Young is a trash player, a chucker with serious off-court issues. He would be more harmful to the Nuggets chemistry than a fork jammed into an electrical socket.

This is worse than a ESPN fake trade proposal. It's never going to happen.

I hope it makes Lakers fans even more sad when they watch the Nuggets sweep them easily this season, with Jamal Murray having great games while Brandon Ingram cries over another serving of chicken parm. Enjoy the basement of the Western Conference.

Yeah I read that during my google news search this morning. Its kind of satisfying that they have a frothing at the mouth kind of hatred for the Lakers even in our darkest seasons.

if we don't like Randle spacing, what is Faried gonna do for us? another high priced big who can't do much offensively. I don't see JC being much worse/better than Harris, now we'd have another problem on our hands having to cater to 2 emerging SG.

i proprosed JC for G harris and Gallo. We get a good fit in Luke's system and a good 2 way player in Gary harris.

You do realize that Gallo is a better player than JC right? No way they are giving up Gallo and Harris for simply JC.

No thank you. Randle is the best player in that trade, despite what the author may know.

That trade aside, yeah Gallo's great until you look at the fact he averages 56.7 games a season. He's only had 2 seasons where he hasn't missed significant time. He is the epitome of injury prone.

I agree but Denver isn't giving up both of them for Clarkson.

I read this to and it was funny because they were worked up for a trade rumor that came from an parent Herald or something that didn't even seem to have any sources.

How come we are even discussing the merits of the baseless rumor?

Actually I like your topic because you were discussing how whimsical it was, and it was what I was thinking while I was reading the article and even the comments. Couldn't get myself irritated since it was too funny. I'm just wondering how we ended up from kinda making fun of that topic to somehow lending credence to the whole rumor.

If anyone's interested, there's also a baseless Noel for Ingram rumor that was written by the Inqstr. :nonono:

Snaq can make a thread about kittens being traded for Swaggy P and I would be cool with it.

Author is obviously a Denver fan and clearly hasn't watched a lot of Lakers if he thinks getting Randle is the wrong end of the trade... He's also clearly shook by the thought of it actually being true...lol

Well, the language of the article itself shows 0 objectivity. On the other hand, some Laker fans also aren't very optimistic on what Randle can bring to the table.

As a nuggets fan I believe that trade wasn't terrible in any sense but the article was extremely biased and I used to read Denver Stiffs but this offseason they've just been posting the stupidest S**t ever so I even stopped paying attention. I personally love randle and believe before Ingram, he was your best chance at a future. I wouldn't have done the trade though because the nuggets aren't looking for more young guys to give minutes to and they'd rather give more talented players to obtain one great player and create minutes for our already very young guys. Good luck to you guys though! Oh and if you want any comedy in the near future, go read the comments of that article it's just stupid fans on both sides arguing who has the better future. It gave me a giggle or two lol.
