Peak rockabilly/glam rock Moz crossover- loved it back in the day, but was a pretty obsessed fan and I always wonder if the solo albums were really as good as I remember them being (and this one, at least, is).
Not to dump on your musical likes, but Morrissey's voice has always creeped me out. Sounds to much like Robert Smith of the Cure, who is probably my all time most hated band. I'd rather be water-boarded multiple times than locked in a room and forced to listen to a whole Cure album/CD.
Part of it i guess is that i just never got into that artsy/college "alternative" pop which got pretty big in the 80's and early 90's. Everyone from the Smiths, Depeche Mode, the Cure, New Order, Human League, Public Image Ltd, Tears For Fears, ETC.
There was this semi-universal ummm whiny-ness to their voices which turned me off big time. Even many college rock/pop bands of today has singers with that same voice inflection which grates on my ears and nerves.
One of my favorite bands from that 80's early 90s genre of music though is Bauhaus, mainly their really dark sounding stuff..
