232 mass shootings (4 or more injured/killed not including shooter) in 223 days this year, we're overdue for some gun legislation overhaul in this country.

Re: Off Topic VIII
I don't support the banning of all guns, but I understand the desire to regulate them.
It is a problem that it is currently easier to steal another person's gun and use it than it is to steal another person's phone and use it. There need to be additional safety measures to insure that the people possessing the weapons are the ones who should have them- and there should be a vetting process in order to obtain a weapon in the first place.

Damn, I thought it was just me and I was going nuts. Kicked off Chrome, couldn't log in at all. There was some kind of password manager key in the top right hand corner of my window that Ive never seen. Checked Firefox, was still logged in just fine. Ran virus scan, no problems. Then I figured I'd remove all my cookies in Chrome. Logged back into Realgm on Chrome after and it worked. That was weird. What did they do? If anyone else is reading and having problems, trying deleting cookies.

Got logged off again, but was able to log back on. Saw someone make a post on the feedback board as well. Something strange happening with Realgm/Chrome

I was logged off on Firefox too... happens from time to time, but no real issue, I was able to log back on without an issue.

Anybody have specific model recommendations on baby cribs, strollers, carriers, bags, etc?

Nope, but unless you are getting into a babysitting venture, congratulations.

Tula for carriers. My wife swears by them.
BOB jogging strollers are pretty great.
We co-sleep so never had a crib.
No particular recommendation for a bag, but for your baby monitor make sure it has a setting where it is mute unless it senses baby sounds. I have friends that have monitors that stay on so you constantly hear the baby's sound machine, drives me crazy.

I was looking at a BOB setup but they're expensive. Wife really wants a "travel system" so I'm looking at the Chicco Bravo Trivo. Never had any idea they have entire websites dedicated to car seats and ****.
I'll look into the Tula carriers

Re: Off Topic VIII
First time in my life playin field hockey this year and we're into the semi finals!
I've managed not to overly embarrass myself with my complete lack of stick skill. I just try to make up for it with Delly style hustle. Yes, I annoy opposition players.
We're playing the top side, so our chances are slim but it's great to be playing sports in finals again.

For the stroller we have the city mini baby jogger. It's wonderful, but pricey(we got it as a gift). Has an adaptor for all carriers so that it can become a travel system.
Carrier we have Chiccos and have had zero issues with it.
Crib, I have no idea what we have. We just made sure we got a 3 in 1. So that we shouldn't have to buy our daughter an actual bed for awhile since it transitions into a toddler bed and I believe a twin bed after that.
Bag is whatever you're wife/you like. My SIL and BIL have two.different ones. She has a bag and he has a book bag essentially. I don't care to have my own. My wife has too expensive of taste so she bought an expensive ass purse/bag to put **** diapers in. But she likes it so whatever.

Random question - do you mute your phone when you go to bed at night? I do, but I always worry in the back of my mind that there will be some sort of family emergency in the night that I won't know about until I wake up in the morning.

I don't mute my phone. I leave my phone on vibrate about 90% of the time, mainly because I forget to turn the ringer on after work. I don't get many phone calls though, so no big deal for me.
I am crazy obsessive about sleep. I can't sleep if I hear any repetitive noises, any sounds that are in a wave form, anything that isn't not random. No sleeping to music or TV (I've never understood how people do that). No tick tock clocks. No snoring. No fans that have a repetitive click. No ceiling fans that rock back and forth. No outside AC units with a wave in the motor. No motorized sounds of any kind that have a predictable wave. No birds. No crickets.
I have two white noise machines in my bedroom and I also sleep with an earplug, no two, but one, with the other ear against the pillow. If you use two earplugs, you'll only hear your heartbeat, which is as bad as a tick tock clock. I have a 3rd white noise machine in my main living room used to block out the sound of my annoying loud ass neighbors when they play their TV too loud. Thanks thin ass apartment walls. You'd expect more quality for what I pay to live in a new apartment in south Charlotte. Seriously, its time to buy a house, not a condo, but a house, with no shared walls.
Behind where I live they are doing massive construction, so in the mornings I get the sounds of bulldozers going (beep beep beep) as they move around and the awful loud hum of the motors. And then there is this giant church about 1/4 mile away, that shall remain nameless, that likes to put on rock concerts every Sunday morning, so I get woken up at 8:30AM to the bass coming thru the walls. Even the best white noise machines and earplugs stuggle to block out bass.
Just my random bitching about apartment living and the non-stop noises that annoy me. Seriously, why are people who live in apartments so **** inconsiderate? I made sure to get on the top floor so I didnt have any dickheads walking around above me in high heels, or a family with 3 kids running around, or the couple with two 80 lb dogs who think its OK to let them chase the ball around the apartment all night. However, that doesn't stop Paco McStompyfeet from banging around in his apartment next to me every night.
Back to the original question. I remember the last few years my dad was alive, he was really sick, and I'd keep my phone on loud ringer back then because I was always expecting that scary phone call from my mom telling me they were on the way to the emergency room. So, yeah, that sucked. Now, with all my white noise and earplugs, I might sleep right thru a phone call.
Reminder to the board, don't get Fats fired up about his sleep OCD unless you want to read a massive rant.
Oh, wait, another random apartment story...
So, last week my fire alarm went bonkers at 5AM in the morning. It was so **** loud. I know I woke up everyone in my building. I could not get the alarm to stop going off. I climbed up on the stool at 5AM and pushed the button and it would stop for about 20 seconds and then start going off again. All the time it is saying "WARNING CARBON MONOXIDE". And I'm like WTF? Am I about to die in my sleep. So I called 911 and had the fire department come out. I had to wait outside for them to show up. They brought the big ass red truck and 5 dudes climb out and follow me to my apartment where they do all the tests for CO. Nothing. It was a faulty smoke detector. Thankfully the maintenance just happened to be awake and saw the fire truck and they told him what happened to he comes knocking on my door at 6AM and replaces the unit, which causes another round of super loud alarms. That was really embarrassing.
Speaking of phones, any of you guys play fallout shelter? I'm addicted to that game.

Cripes, that sounds painful!
My mum was a shift worker then I became a shift worker, so I think I've been trained or its in my genes to be able to sleep anywhere, anytime, light, dark through almost any noise. The wife likes white noise, so we have a fan on but that's about it.
Saying that, I've never lived in an apartment block. We have bugger all of them in WA, the government is trying to introduce them now as we start to finally fill the massive amount of land that Perth covers. Growing up everyone lived on a house with a block at least 700 square metres. So you missed a lot of the noise.
I think I would hate an apartment.

Re: Off Topic VIII
I use my phone as an alarm clock, so its always on.
I cant sleep in complete quietness, i need to have some kind to sound to drown out my thoughts or i will be awake the entire night. doesn't matter too much what it is. rain, crickets, fans and the air conditioner all do the job. cant do music, TV or clicking sounds. my neighbors are the worst when it comes to the music part, they like to have middle of the night with their entire home vibrating from the speakers kind of parties.
