I reread my own post and thought I should've put ESAL higher

I think this is the first year that MJ hasn't been a clear favourite.

lol I bottled this so hard. Looking back on it I wish i had done a spreadsheet earlier because when I had less time to make my later picks I had no plan that I could easily go to and just plug a guy in. I had to rush them all and didn't think anything through. I stand by Rick Fox though

Rick Fox was a solid role player for a championship team, no loss in having him on your side.

something about his face makes me want to punch it though.

(apart from his role in Shameless, that was pretty good)

Talent wise Diop is the winner, if only he picked a 3 and D PG, I would vote his team. Almost all of his player need the ball in their hands to be effective, just not enough touches to make them play their best. IMO, in this legends league, you still need some super role players who knows their role within the team to compliment your best players. And...the floor spacing is horrible, Bird is the only 3p threat on his starting lineup.

But still, i pick Diop's team as my honorary mention team, since defense wise his team is great.

my original plan was T-Mac instead of Nique but Lamar killed my dreams. . .

but yeah, I was trawling long and hard for shooting and toughness at the end of the draft. Shooting wise, the best I could do were Nick and Jackson. Solid, but I would've liked some more.

In hindsight I should've went with Westbrook over Nique, he could've started. Then used the rookie pick for Brandon Roy, Chuck Person, Latrell Sprewell or Lamar Odom who all had good rookie years with over 36% three point shooting.

Meh, hindsight drafting is always easy

I remember liking Chuck Person, I never realised how good his rookie year was.

18.8pts, 8.3 rebs, 3.6 assts, 1.1 stls. 35% from three, leading the Pacers into the playoffs winning 50% of games.
I always thought of him as a good shooting role player, not a team leading scorer especially as a rookie

another rookie season that surprised me was Kerry Kittles, I remember liking him as I was a brief fan of that Jersey team (shawn bradley effect), but thought over all he was average. excellent rookie year though.

injury killed his promising career.

maybe I should've grabbed him and started next to Wade as a 3nD Sg.

Or better yet, I should've grabbed rookie Ben Gordon to make sure that Fat's really HATED my team.

I stand by your Fox pick too. He had a hell of a year that year. I was gonna nab him in the same round as you did and have him as my backup SF. Actually would have rearranged my team a little better on how I wanted it too.

Spoiler:

I just love this team top to bottom. Shaq/Dirk/Durant is a **** joke, nobody is stopping those guys. Westbrook off the bench? Please. Although I do worry a little bit that there could be some lingering animosity between him and Durant. I think Conley will do a good job and is a perfect fit with the rest of this team so I really liked that choice. And then you could bring in Iggy off the bench in crunch time and go Conley/Iggy/Durant/Dirk/Shaq. Its just a really great team so you get my first place vote.

2. BtG

I actually think that you may have picked the most intriguing team of the draft, and i'm giving you my second place vote based upon toughness alone. I'm a huge fan of the Cowens/Green/Pippen lineup and I would love to see that one play out in real life. I mean the defensive players that you picked and the toughness was a great strategy and you stuck with your strategy throughout the draft unlike some other drafters (Flip). Bobby Jones was my favorite pick of yours. Shooting may be a slight concern but it probably doesn't matter. 2nd Place

3. Diop

Really well put together with very few weak links. I enjoyed learning a little bit more about Nick Van Exel because I thought he would be scrub status when I initially looked over the lineups but it seems like he is actually pretty good. Crash off the bench obviously gets you extra points as well. Also Livingston was a really smart pickup. 3rd place.

Best of the Rest

Fats - Ginobili off the bench was obviously a stroke of genius. Actually looking at your team right now I don't know how I don't have it in the top 3. It just speaks to how awesome some of these teams are. Bonus points for picking both Malones. This and ESAL were right there for third place for me.

ESAL- Another tough, really good team. I'm not 100% sure I love Rodman on this team and that's why I didn't put you in the top 3. I probably would have liked a floor spacer there but obviously you can run all kinds of lineups with your team. Actually it would have been really cool to see Curry/Pierce/Leonard/Draymond Green/Robinson. I don't know if that could have happened but Dray and Leonard together would've been nice. Still your team was nice. Towns off the bench is also wild. Youve got such an insane amount of talent.

YB - I like how you built around Lebron with some great shooters in Peja and Miller. Peja was born to play with Lebron. I also loved your white stiff Mark Eaton, and the Bowen/Griffin/Miller picks were very smart.

Even looking at Coolio, Lamar, and Ian i'm sitting here thinking they could've just as easily been top 3

Only way I could have had Dray and Leonard both is if I took one in their rookie year and that wasn't worth it. Both were only available in All NBA and Rookie.

Dray was actually my 2nd/3rd choice as my All NBA pick. Garnett was one, but not a realistic chance at getting him(good pick btw). 2nd was Dirk.

I really wanted a floor spacer at the 4(only 2-3 with talent and could actually shoot the 3 in this draft). But as the draft kept going on the talent at the 2-3 got pretty weak (I will admit I mismanaged some categories based on what position I should have drafted in them). Once I realized I couldn't get a starting caliber SF later on I switched my mind to Leonard because there was still plenty of 4s left even though they didn't stretch the floor.

I just thought that Dray and a week SF or SG wasnt as good as Leonard and Rodman/Randolph.

I figured I could manufacture space better that way and even run Leonard at the 4 for a bit in games to space the floor with Korver at the 2. Also use Rodmans cutting ability to at least keep a guy out of the paint some.

I probably would t start Rodman every game, depending on matchup. But he's my first guy off the floor. And one of the first guys back on because he can help guard almost anyone on a second unit(which my defense has a few week points at).

Kittles was my battle with KAT for the rookie pick. KAT just too talented to pass up even though Kittles on my second unit would have been nice. Also of I took Kittles I might has passed on Leonard and taken Green.

One guy that I don't think got taken but was surprised he didn't.

30 point scorer Adrian Dantley.

Went to Notre Dame so would have counted for the Hoosiers pick.

I passed cause he was an **** And had an awkward game, but a 30 point scorer in one of the last rounds would have been a good pick.

I'm really surprised no one picked Glenn Robinson with their Hoosier pick. Thats who I was going to take. He had a 23/5/3 year on 47/38/80 shooting numbers. His game fits nicely with the modern style and can play SF or PF.

I was the last one to take the Hooiser pick and at the end it came down to George Hill, Jeff Teague, Glen Robinson and Adrian Dantley. As good of scorers as both Dantley and Robinson were, I just couldnt see how they made my team better, so I went with Hill. Dantley is a guy you'd have to build around since he was so unique.

Yeah, Big Dog doesn't make as much sense for your team, but I feel like a lot of teams could have used a high end bench scorer and spacing option like him. He had some flaws in his game, but his scoring prowess and ability to play stretch PF are really nice for a bench option in this league.

I agree with both you guys about Dantley. Very talented, but extremely awkward for the modern game.
