I definitely don't think he's a lock to be in the rotation.

Think we'll go a 9 man with Smart, Brown, Jerebko, Olynyk. & That 10th man would either be Green, or Rozier like you said if summer league wasn't a fluke (I don't think it was).

Yeah so swing Smart to the 2 & play Rozier, or if he's sturgglnig to shoot it from deep, give those spot mins to Green. Whoever the 11th man is, we got a deep bench with either Rozier/Green & Zeller rotting on the pine.

& YO -- I got a bold prediction. Marcus Smart wins 6moy. You know it's going to a winning team. Iggy's #'s are gonna be way down. Jamal won't win it again. Cleveland doesn't have a stand out/break out candidate & unless Patty Mills goes off, I don't think the Spurs will have one either. That's 1-3 in the west with no one & no 1 seed in the east.

So Mahhhhhcis - Be ready baby cause you can step up & show the nba world your the real deal.

Someone needs to update us on Rozier's snapchat. What's this about him posting video of strippers?

Trade Young for the Truth to play limited minutes, clutch minutes if he demonstrates he can shoot as he did for Wizards in 14-15, mentor Jaylen, & retire in Boston in June.
What is Young's salary? Paul only earns 3m I think this year.

Eh idk. I honestly don't think the Knicks have that good of a chance. I'd prob replace them with Indiana?

IMO it's Cleveland obviously.
2-4 Is Toronto, Boston, Indiana. Think any of these 3 can realistically go to the ECF.

& I try not to be a homer, but both are very guard dependent with Lowry, DeRozan, & Teague, Ellis, George --- Which is best suited for us. Bradley, Crowder, Brown, Smart just locking up. Even if throw Rozier in there 5 mins a game just to full court press & run around & cause havok. So I think against them we'd be in a good position.

&& We'd all love to have Pierce back for 1 more go. Pierce for Young works in the trade checker? Maybe throw Jackson in there too idc. I hate that Pierce is in LAC. I get it it's home, but in Washington I loved him, Brooklyn I rooted for them. Just hard for me to watch him there.

Methinks: LeQueen & then Celtics/Knicks (Rose comeback/Melo/Noah/Porzingis will do some ****)/Raptors/Pacers in some order 2-5. We do need another back up Big.

Do it, Doc.
You do not need Paul.
Let him finish in Boston.
Would be freaking awesome.
And I want to come to Boston this season several times - not just once or twice. :0).
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

Rotation projections start with

Amir
Horford
Crowder
Bradley
IT

Olynyk
Smart

Each of those is basically a lock to either start or else get major backup minutes, within the limitations of what their bodies can handle (which is most likely to be a factor for Johnson, although everybody will probably be held to the low 30s in minutes or below).

Strong candidates for the other rotation roles are

Mickey
Jerebko
Brown
Green
Rozier

Brown has one big disadvantage there, in that he's a rookie who wasn't all that great in college. He also has two advantages, in that he's a high pick who Danny is on record as wanting to see be developed, and he plays a position where there isn't much roster competition.

My hunch is that G-Green is probably a better backcourt mate with Smart off the bench than Rozier is (because shooting), at least to start the year. Smart/Green/Brown/Jerebko/Olynyk would be an interesting bench lineup with Green, Jerebko, and Olynyk spreading the floor and Smart and Brown slashing and kicking.

Outside of injuries negatively effecting this team. Marcus and/or Jaylen Brown will be the reason we have a great season or not. We need both of them to shoot the 3 in the 30s and just take our team to the next level. I want to Jaylen throwing down Alley oops from Marcus on the second unit. I am really excited to see how that athleticism can improve our team.

Rozier-Smart-JBrown in many ways are the keys to this season. They need to all step up and be an effective 2nd unit. I like all of their upside, but now is the time

Seems like they have several issues they have to decide early:

- Will they play Amir with Horford or do they go with that "5 out" offense, using Olynyk or Jerebko? If it's the latter the big man rotation might end up being mostly Horford-Olynyk-Jerebko, with Johnson just backing up Horford, and not even all the time. They might also use that lineup with Jerebko at the 5 that they like, with Jae at the 4.

- A shortened big rotation would mean more wing minutes, with Jae or Brown guarding up and Smart playing the 3 sometimes, playing the same role Turner did. That creates more minutes for Rozier maybe.

CBS history is that he plays small if he can get away with it. How many teams really have two true inside-scoring bigs? I bet we'll see a ton of three-guard lineups, even four-guard lineups.

- Don't they have to give Mickey a shot at some point? Couldn't he theoretically be an upgrade on Amir?

I edited my previous post. I checked Terrys Snap and he deleted all that stuff. I would imagine the Celtics will have some words for him. Its fine if you want to goto a strip club. But don't be a **** moron and post that **** on snapchat.

re Mickey. he would have to really be impressive in Pre-Season to get a shot. Boston doesn't need to play him this year. He's young and locked up with his contract. They can continue to be patient with him

I'd add Olynyk to that list.

Smart's the biggest key, as he could have a big jump in production. If Brown and Rozier are competent, they can also look to consolidate assets and add another all star/borderline all star via trade.

Olynyk should easily be our second best big man this year. If he isnt averaging close to 14 ppg and 7 boards by the trade deadline i hope he gets traded.

Meant to post this earlier but a good chunk of this is likely in the C's FA pitch to Blake next summer.

Olynyk is the new Jeff Green for me. I want to like him, but I just can't do it. We see flashes of what he can do, but he very rarely is able to put it all together. I'd be surprised if KO puts up 14/7. Instead, I think we'll see more of the same out of him, which isn't horrible. His ability to space the floor is useful to Brad's offense...but he struggles too much defensively and with consistency to be a full-time starter IMO. Or maybe he NEEDS to start. IDK. I can't quite figure it out with Olynyk.
Based on the current roster I believe we will see A LOT of smaller lineups because IT-AB-Jae-Smart-JBrown-Rozier-and even GGreen will earn PT and need to play. That only leaves so many minutes for the bigs. I suspect Horford will get the lions share with Amir and JJ earning time as well. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see KO digress.

KO needs to be consistent!

It's time for him to provide that for his team every night!.

Well, Blake is apparently going to resign with the Clips after the season. I know it's a long season, but him leaving Los Angeles via free agency always seemed like too much of a longshot.

I think Ainge has to start looking at other upgrades via trade. There's no point in keeping cap flexibility for next summer if there's no one we can sign.
