The allegations absolutely reek of gold diggery but it's a big deal nonetheless as it is a distraction to the team. It's also not something to dismiss out of hand as it's not an insignificant thing if Edwin is passing allong STIs.

I don't know why you would be "pretty sure" either way. This is an issue best left to the lawyers.

Sounds more like backing off on not having std's was a case of getting checked out after talking with her.

Alomar was accused of having AIDS -- not just HIV, but AIDS -- and not telling his sexual partners about it. That would be a serious crime. But Alomar clearly doesn't have AIDS, so it's kinda hard to believe.

i'm always impressed by the high level of mysogeny that propagates in threads such as this (not you, azorian). stating a woman is a golddigger versus letting justice take place.

The accusation against Alomar said that he had AIDS. I think it's pretty obvious he doesn't have AIDS, based on his appearance every time we've seen him since this accusation. If it said he was simply HIV+, we likely wouldn't be able to tell. But when it flat out states he has AIDS, I think we can see that that is not the case, and it makes the rest of it hard to believe.

in the old days, AIDS and HIV were erroneously interchangeable.
you're HIV positive, and when the disease progresses to the point where your CD4 cell count drops to a certain marker, you're considered to have a syndrome brought on by HIV.
if you take medication and your CD4 count recovers, you are no longer suffering from AIDS but you are HIV positive.
whether or not Alomar had HIV or AIDS could have been a clerical error or a factual statement at the time; however, if Alomar was HIV positive and is under proper antiretroviral treatment, then, in theory, he may never get AIDS (again) and can live a long and healthy life.

in the end, it has nothing to do with Edwin's case.

There were descriptions of how poor Alomar's health supposedly was. Unless he has since made a miraculous recovery, I'm not buying that he he has or had AIDS.

As far as Edwin, unless he's out there spreading deadly STDs -- like HIV/AIDS -- I couldn't care less. And somehow I doubt he'd be having the season he is having, if that was the case. People spread STDs every day without getting sued.

I'm with Yogi on the these type of threads. No idea whats true, hopefully the matter is settled one way or the other with some actual evidence and isn't just a whole lot of mud slinging.

Like everyone else here, I have no idea what actually happened. I wouldn't be too surprised if 100% of the allegations were true, 0% of them, or anything in between.

I will say it seems a bit sketchy that she hooked up with one Blue Jay unprotected in December and was worried enough (or smart enough) to get tested right away, but then did the same thing a month or two later.
