Channel Orange is a great album. People have been waiting for this for four years -- and it's definitely a worthy follow up.

I just listened to the album, and it's aight. But it's not life-changing in the way a lot of people act like it is.

Have you listened to Channel Orange?

I have, and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed his collaborations with Jay and Kanye as well.

Yep, I get the excitement but social media just allows people to go overboard. It's almost impossible (unless you're a fan that realizes it) for something to live up to those expectations. Even if this album does, it's not fair to the artist. But I guess if he puts it out there listeners are going to respond how they respond. Can't control it.

There's a new Empire of the Sun song. It'll be on iTunes, etc. tonight, but right now kinda hard to find a video that hasn't been pulled down.

First listen - not too much different from the Ice on the Dune sound (I know they don't deviate from their sound too much in general).

Bask in the glory of this "video" for now

Have you heard Luke Steele's pre-Empire of the Sun band, Sleepy Jackson? They're pretty great.

The new Glass Animals drops today. It has come to save us all from a relatively crappy year of music.

Lots of great stuff out right now. Frank Ocean, Vince Staples, Cass McCombs, new Bon Iver end of September. First two songs he dropped from that album are pretty stellar IMHO.

Justin Vernon never ceases to amaze me. One of the most interesting, complex, yet simple combination of sounds, and it doesn't even matter that his lyrics don't make any sense. He somehow manages to put out some of the most profound music ever. Probably my favorite artist out there, if you hadn't guessed.

I feel I've been locked in a closet, this frank ocean album is #1 in iTunes for sometime now. Is it that good? Vince Staples never heard of but sounds quality, better than the autotune crap that keeps releasing.

If you don't like autotune don't listen to the new Frank Ocean or Bon Iver.

Gotcha. I would give them a try. I think they use it like another instrument in these albums. It's evolved from the gimmick phase to being used as part of the music differently. My opinion solely.

Just cant get into the Frank Ocean album. What are your thoughts of Logic? His new mix tape that released a few months back any good?

On holidays, having a few drinks (Sailor Jerry's, homemade ginger beer and lime) whilst pulling together dinner with the rest of the family off in various rooms. Listening to Violent Femmes on a whim, I gotta say- I dips ma lid to ye, Wisconsin. I dips ma lid. Such a great drinkin' on your own but feeling like you're with an old friend 'cause Gordon is purring in your ear band.
