How to win:
Figure out who the worst in the league the previous year, reach out to them.. Find out who they are picking each week and pick the exact opposite.
Should be sure fire?

If I had the first pick I'd take Ezekiel Elliott. I imagine all other top RBs are keepers. There is probably zero chance for me if I join to get anywhere this year but my best bet for long term strategy is to take as many rookies as possible that have the potential to be stars, because I will have no young keepers.
I haven't done a keeper league before, but entering one with a bad roster, I think that's about the only approach to take and consider it a long term strategy since the league continues year to year.
If anyone has any idea who those best rookie idea guys for long term strategy please chime in and let me know...much appreciated.

*5th pick in upcoming draft*
- 4 Keepers per year (You can keep a player for as long as you want)
- 4 Divisions of 5 teams (North, South. East, West)
- 8 teams make the playoffs including division winners
- Trading of draft picks allowed
- Draft order based on standings worst to first
- Keeper deadline Wednesday August 31st
- Draft Monday September 5th 8:30pm Eastern
*Positives of joining*
- All team owners are extremely active and dedicated fantasy owners
- Your knowledge of the NFL is tested you have to know the league well instead of stars and starters
- More strategy with acquiring backups, starters for bye weeks and building for now AND the future
- Highly competitive league our baseball league was insane this year I was passing through 5-7 trades a day
for the last 2 weeks before the trade deadline.
Yeah, you know a team is bad when you can't think of four guys worth keeping. This would be a serious challenge. AJ Green is probably the only real keeper. None of the others would even go in the first 5 or 6 rounds in a new draft.
I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, but I also don't want to join something I would have little vested interested in. That isn't good for fantasy.
Keep looking for someone else, but if you become really hard pressed by the deadline, which appears to be close, I'll do it.
See post above mine. I pointed him here in case you still needed someone. If you haven't found someone and he doesn't want to do it after seeing details, please send me the details as I will need to develop strategy before tomorrow's keeper deadline.

Hey I was out of town since the weekend so I haven't had time to replace that team. The Keeper Deadline passed but it
doesn't matter as I can't finalize the list since there is only 19 teams. If you join tell me your keepers and I can enter
them for you.
All you need is 4 Keepers and even if you have a hard time finding 4 Keepers you'll get a good player that has Keeper
potential with the 5th pick in the draft. All the other players on that team are going back into the draft.
Where is the fun in taking over a team that's already loaded or winning? The fun part is taking over a team that needs
fixing and trying to turn it into a dynasty. Most guys are apprehensive about taking over teams that aren't contenders
but trust me it isn't a sales pitch guys are able to turn a lot of teams they take over into contenders the first year frequently.
There is all sorts of strategy like you said draft young players with upside and build up your asset base and possibly cash in
to add more talented keepers...
There is a lot of parity in the league since there is 19 active and competitive GM's...
We very rarely get drop outs and these Real GM 20 team Keeper leagues often become peoples favorite leagues because of
the activity and competitiveness...
You can always give it a try this year and if for whatever reason you don't like it I can replace you next summer if you
want out?
It's up to you but let me know soon as I'm gonna start looking for a replacement in the next 24 hours

I will but I sent those other two posters who chimed in over here because in the fantasy forum or perhaps one of them elsewhere, they were looking for a yahoo league to join.

Sounds good just send me a link to your Yahoo resume so I know you're qualified and not some jobber or have some
kind of a history of playing fantasy sports.

I'm in a 16 team keep 3 league, a 20 team dynasty league and a 24 team dynasty league. Major endorsement of large fantasy leagues. So much more challenging than the 10 teamer where the waiver wire has great players available all season.

That sounds a lot of fun. If players are invested in the league, it's very demanding and addictive --- that is why I have statyed away from fantasies. I just invested way too much time in them. How did you become a Miami fan, Marino?

Yes, I am the commissioner in the keeper league, which is a bit of a hassle, but someones got to do it. The other two are really active year round - trades, rookie drafts, vet drafts etc. One runs on Flea Flicker, which isn't as sexy in season as Yahoo, but has way more functionality. The other is on yahoo and we basically have to run a shadow league document using google sheets in the offseason to keep track of player movement.
Yes, grew up during the Marino years. Man they are frustrating now.

Draft went pretty well. Like my team pretty well, mostly my young qb depth for future or possible trade bait for right offer.

Ya you did a good job...Like the Duke Johnson pick with your 1st pick and the trio of QB's you got to replace Peyton.
Got some nice toys to play with to make some trades.
Not an easy draft to do with considering the now, the future, trade bait, backups, bye weeks and players with upside.
I think you'll be solid this year and set up nicely for the future.
Also feel free to remind those guys about the ESPN Point Spread pool again not all of them are here on Real GM
