Teddy Bridgewater likely to miss entire season

Post#1 » by bleu » Wed Aug 31, 2016 12:46 am

Due to a knee injury sustained in practice today. What an absolutely brutal blow to that team. Many had them as possible Super Bowl contenders, but I don't think they even have much of a shot at the playoffs without Bridgewater. They haven't said for sure that he will miss the whole season, but from some of Mike Zimmer's comments and from various tweets I'm seeing, I think that it's pretty likely we don't see him this year. I feel so bad for the guy, and for the Minnesota fans. I really enjoy watching Teddy play, hopefully he can have a speedy and full recovery and come back next season.

He´s done for the season.
Do the Vikings have the assets to get a guy like McCarron? Are they willing to trade value? Brad Sorensen can´t be the answer...

The Vikings have picks but I don't know if they'll give up what the Bengals are looking for. I'm sure the Vikings will wait until the last cuts and see who is available for trade. There aren't a ton of guys out there who can save their season.

Too bad there isn't much out there. I had your Vikings winning the NFC this year. they might have to give up something to pull off a decent trade to salvage a deep playoff run. I just don't see anything they can do at the moment.

That's terrible! I had them as overrated cause I don't trust bridge, but man I always hate injuries on players (even on players like romo...but not Bret Favre, I hope he gets injured even as a retiree)

This team on both sides of the ball are right now ready for a very deep playoff run. Losing Bridgewater is a huge hit and loss. Only way I see the Vikings going very deep in the playoffs now, is if they make a play on another QB. And to get a QB now with so many teams desperately in the market, will come as a huge cost. Cash, trade, draft pick, whatever. The Vikings don't need a stud QB with this very solid team. Just a game manager that doesn't make mistakes. Shaun Hill will play well for the most part, but he's even more fragile than Romo, and you can't count on Hill lasting more than 6 games. If Minnesota is willing to make a play on a good QB, then they still have a shot. If not I can still see them making the playoffs and getting a wild card, but that's it. Peterson and the Viking defense can only take a very good team so far.

Yeah, to be honest I never thought they'd be anything more than a possible wildcard this season, but this is a blow that really hurts. I can't imagine them getting more than 8 or 9 wins with Brad Sorenson leading the way. Maybe Brett Farve would unretire again?

This is the team that should make a move for Kaepernick. They have the defense and running game to keep him from having to do much. It's not working in SF for him. It's not working in SF for the Niners. The other Vikings option are not going to work out and as far as Kaep has fallen since 2012 and 2013, he is better than Shawn Hill.

The severity of his injury makes me wonder if he will be back at the start of next season as well.
