Agreed. That looks like a sweet facility.

This arena is going to be pretty damn cool. Bring on the 2019 finals in mke.

Do we have any idea when naming rights will be announced?

Could be, after Obama comes onboard.

When we get off of our asses and start a new indiegogo to buy those naming rights. "The MBBOT and SneakyPete Center" will happen, people!

Feigin has said they will shoot for an ASG in the 2020+ timeframe. The only reason they wouldn't get it are hotel rooms. Downtown Milwaukee right now does not have enough to meet league needs. That's why these proposed new hotels need to get built here over the next couple years.

How did we host the MLB all-star game when Miller Park opened? I don't know anything about the specifics just curious if the NBA has way more people travel to the all-star game even when baseball stadium capacity is about twice as high as basketball.

Bud Selig was commissioner. And 2002 so a different era.

On the other side of it, we had a lot more local attendance at Miller Park and it was during summer, plus you could count hotels in Racine, Ken, Waukesha, etc.

The NBA likes to do the whole downtown experience thing during winter. They want everyone on hand. That would be my guess.

The Bucks just need to find a legal reason this can be considered a "hotel"

Players don't want to come here in February for an all-star game. Los Angeles had it in 2004, 2011 and they get it again in 2018. Houston had 2006 and 2013. Minnesota got one 4 years after the Target Center opened, Cleveland got one 3 years after their arena opened. I'm a bit surprised Chicago hasn't had one since '88.

Baseball always tries to reward cities that open new stadiums. The NBA is about marketing the "event". We are long overdue no doubt.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Players simply don't want to come here.

Are you telling me they couldn't take the drive to Chicago for hotels.

For the 30,000 people that want to experience all-star weekend for 24 hours a day for 4 days. No, they really couldn't.

This is probably buried somewhere in this thread but they have a webcam that takes a pic every three hours or so of the construction site. So basically you can watch a time-lapse from June 10th through the last photo taken (which as of this posting is today at 9am). Kinda neat to see progress on NML tower in the background.
