Other than Suns what teams you like/dislike?

Post#1 » by Damkac » Thu Sep 1, 2016 8:17 pm

It's offseason, not many things to talk about so let's talk about other teams we like or hate :P

Teams I don't like:
- Cavs - must admit, I'm LeBron's hater. Can't stand this guy and I'm always wishing his teams to lose no matter against who they play.
- Lakers - because they are Lakers.
- Clippers - Griffin, Paul, Riverses... what to add?
- Rockets - Harden is a$$hole. Losing Howard won't make them much more likable.
- Sacramento, Brooklyn - dysfunctional organisations.

Honstly all other teams are about the same for me.
Last year I cheered for Warriors because I liked they playing style but adding Durant was too much for me. However when they will play against Cavs in the finals I will cheer against LeBron ;)
I guess I won't watch many non-Suns games this season.

How about you?

Biggest dislike right now other than Spurs/Lakers is probably the Warriors. Watching them lose in the finals after getting the regular season record was sweet.

As for other teams I like, the Bucks are probably up there. I just think their look is dope. Good colours, good logo. Knicks I've always had a soft spot for as well, and I can't put a finger on why for some reason.

I don't hate teams but I hate some players.

1) Russell Westbrook
2) Damien Lillard
3) Zach Randolph
4) Ryan Hollins

maybe some more.. I don't remember.

I like:

OKC the most other than the Suns

Indiana probably next because I really like Paul George

After that no one really but I will pay attention to the teams with young Arizona players like Stanley Johnson, RHJ and Aaron Gordon

I also am really interested in seeing how the Knicks do, how much Porzingis progresses, if Rose can improve from last year, and am curious how Hornacek will do with the team. It certainly has a lot more talent than our 48 win team his rookie year.

Noah vs Plummer
Porzingis vs Frye
Melo vs Tucker
Lee vs Green
Rose vs Dragic

If Rose gets anywhere near to what he used to be and passes a little more than he shoots, they might be interesting.

Of course I left Bledsoe out of that but given he was out half the season, and he's a PG the comparison to Lee didn't make as much sense.

NY also has Brandon Jennings as sixth man

Don't really care about anyone else, but..

I hate:

Lakers
Spurs
Rockets
Warriors

When I started being interested in NBA I also cheered for OKC. They were new, super-young team with amazing future. But I got tired of their iso-oriented game. That's why I started liking Warriors - great ball movement and lots of players who put the team before themselves. And of course Curry is joy to watch. But after they added Durant it's just unfair for the rest of the league. That's one of the reason why I dislike LeBron, he teamed up with 2 other stars and everybody was like "OMG they will win all championships in next decade!". Not a fan of superteams. Especially superteams created not by brilliant GMs but by lazy superstars who wants easy ring.

I'm in minority here but I don't hate Spurs. When Suns and Spurs were rivals I wasn't interested in bball. I respect their culture and wish Suns would learn something from they. I also like how their stars don't act like stars. However usually in the playoffs I cheer for younger teams that plays against them. Unless they are teams from my hated list :P

I can't hate the Warriors. They plan a fun brand of basketball, and their fans had to suffer through so much losing. If there's a team that had to take the Bulls' record, I'm glad it was a team that had gone through a lot of pain.

Gives me hope. I don't want everyone to hate us as soon as we become successful. :-?

I'll also follow the Nuggets this year. I like good, functional organizations, and I enjoy what they ate doing much better than, say, the Wolves who just HAVE to get better at some point.

Personally, I can't stand warriors fans. I use the term "fans" loosely. Real fans that have been with them since the we believe team or run tmc team sure, I'm happy for them. But I know so many people that barely ever watch basketball, but all of a sudden they're die hard warriors fans. I have friends that I have tried to get them interested in the NBA before, but they refused to watch it. But during the season they were littering my facebook feed with warriors crap. Bandwagoners man

Were you around the boards at all before the draft...like the couple of weeks leading up to it? There was a guy here (Cactus Jack) who used to be a Sonics fan but said he now was a Suns fan...he was making all kinds of posts in the threads...LOVED Hield...him and JMac1 would just
Spoiler:
jack each other off
talking about him and argue with everyone else...JMac went about crazy during the draft, but that's not unusual for him.

Anyway, the day Durant chose the Warriors his avatar changed to Kevin Durant in a Warriors jersey and he changed his favorite team logo to GS.

Well, Cactus Jack ain't and can't be a Warriors fan the way I am a Suns fan.

You think when we win it all, we'll spend half our time just b****ing about our bandwagon fans?

Probably, or if Hield breaks out with the Pelicans he will have told us so, and if the Seahawks beat that Cards he will surely show up to our football thread. He's basically a troll in that one.

Haha yea I remember that. Sadly, I mostly lurk. I don't really have much time to discuss on the boards. Hopefully in the future when I finally graduate.

But where is the fun in bandwagoning. Where is the reward. It's like cheating in a video game.
You don't see the journey or progression from the start. That's why watching this young phx team with a lot of potential is exciting for me.

You get them all the time like when Lebron went to Miami you had all the bandwagon fans jump ship.

Seems to me now the bandwagon fans are split between the warriors and cavs.

I don't dislike any team especially when a team is achieving huge success (Warriors/Cavs). And I absolutely enjoy how well the Warriors have played as a team for the last two years (that's been quite a lot of fun during a period in which the Suns have sucked). What I do dislike are any of the Cleveland bandwagoners who were burning LeBron's jersey or saying really mean stuff about him when he left Cleveland in 2010 but were groveling at his feet when he returned in 2014. They're not real Cavs fans - they're the worst kind of bandwagoners.

I just like to watch good basketball when I watch other teams. Maybe this is blasphemy, but I feel a lot less animosity toward the Lakers and Spurs now that Kobe and Duncan are gone. I think part of the reason I hated about watching Kobe's Lakers and Duncan's Spurs was seeing them bitch to the refs - or if they weren't actively bitching, it seemed like they got the calls because they had already worn down the refs so much. I mean, Ginobili and Parker are still in San Antonio, so they're the least tolerable team in the NBA IMO, but I can at least appreciate Kawhi Leonard.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I totally agree with this and have stated on twitter and the general board I won't lose any sleep over Kobe and Duncan retiring...they eliminated us in 7 of our last 10 playoff runs. Duncan was at least respectable, though other Spurs were not at the time they beat us, and Kobe was never really respectable. They have MUCH more likeable teams now.
