Re: The 2016 Offseason Thread
Carl Landry to fill out the bench a little better? I would probably be okay releasing Jenkins to get him. A great role player vet. Maybe start him early in the season, while the youngsters are warming up.
Will not be what we go with nightly, but the vet lineup looks like this:
Bledsoe/ Ulis/ Goodwin
Knight/ Booker/ Barbosa
Tucker/ Warren/ Bender
Landry/ Chriss/ Williams
Chandler/ Len

Yes, he'd be another great vet at a position of need and a bigger thicker PF that we might need on occasion. Though you forgot Dudley.

Training camp starts 9/26!
http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/nba/suns/2016/08/22/phoenix-suns-keep-camp-stage-scrimmage-nau/89107414/
Although many Suns players join voluntary workouts leading up to training camp, the players officially must report on Sept. 26 in Phoenix before heading north for camp, Sept. 27 to Oct. 1.
The Suns' camp practices, which include two-a-day sessions, are held at NAU's Rolle Activity Center and closed to the public, but fans are invited to attend an Oct. 1 intrasquad scrimmage at noon in NAU's Walkup Skydome. Two days later, the Suns will open their six-game preseason schedule in Phoenix against the San Antonio Spurs.

I knew I forgot someone. I actually meant to have he or Tucker at the 2 for the super vet lineup. Need to make sure we got him cheap on a multi though, or a richer 1 yr deal.

Please, NO to Landry or another corpse.
We have Chandler, Dudley, Tucker and Barbosa...we don't need more veteran players.

In case you missed Mr. Twister's post in the Bender thread, I will throw it in here as well.

probably nothing. He hasnt shown that he's worth the max. So the right move is to let it play out for this season and match anything he gets offered.
IMO based off of what was offered this offseason to other Centers, he WOULD have been a max guy if he was a RFA, and offering him the max today could blow up in their faces. After this season, the suns will look at matching any offer he's given. He's very unlikely to take the QO next year based off of his injury history.
Len has to prove his worth. So in order for the sun's to think about maxing him from the start of next offseason he's going to have to CONSISTENTLY put up 15/10/1.5. Anything less they'll have to evaluate what he gets offered from another team.

Extending doesn't automatically mean giving a guy max money. Getting into contract talks now could give the message that we want you here on this team and would forgo the whole courting process and overpay. I doubt we match a max offer sheet for Len, or extend him one ourselves. He'll probably get double digit millions, but I doubt he'll more than Bledsoe and Knight from us. But, the other part of this is whether or not the Suns want to keep Len. Maybe they've already decided to go after bigger names this coming offseason and want the cap flexibility.
We haven't thrown too much money away yet, I don't see them starting now with Len. If he's in a Suns uni next season, it'll be for a very reasonable deal.
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Re: The 2016 Offseason Thread
Every decent C is earning around $16M per year...it is like in the past around $8M per year and that is his value in the league. Players like Mozgov, Biyombo or Kanter are in the same tier of Len, so it's common sense to think that with his young age and his work ethic he is gonna get the same money at least.

Luckily so many teams overpayed for a center this year and many others drafted one the same year and will have their own RFA so their will probably be an extremely limited # of teams that are interested. Though they may figure Noel, Gobert and Adams will be matched for sure and come this way and try and overpay....Dieng probably a better bet for them and currently a better player anyway.
