Sam Bradford to the Vikings

For a 2017 first round pick, and a 2018 fourth round pick.

I definitely didn't see this one coming. I guess the Eagles feel pretty safe with Carson Wentz? I've never been a fan of Sam Bradford, but I think that this is an interesting move from Minnesota. They feel they can make a good playoff run this year, and as long as Bridgewater is healthy and can come back by the post season, hopefully (for them) Bradford can keep them in playoff contention.

vikes gon crazy, first round pick for a mediocre expensive rental? they werent a championship team with or without bridgewater, dumb to waste a top pick for a playoff game or two.

I can see both sides to it. I never bought them as a real contender with or without Bridgewater, but at least this shows their fans that they really believe in the team they're putting out there this season, and they're dedicated to winning RIGHT NOW.

The price is mortifying but hopefully it means the Vikings don't waste a playoff opportunity. Of course Bradford will probably get hurt himself after 3 games.

Could have gotten someone like McCarron for less. Bradford must be the most traded #1 pick.

High price but a good pick up for the Vikings, this gives them a better shot at the playoffs. They must have felt Bradford was worth the risk, however will he stay healthy?

He's still young, and with ADP taking pressure off of him, it might be easier...definitely a great backup and a guy deserving one more chance.

I'm not a Bradford fan but I feel this is a great move by the Vikings. I didn't see it coming though.

dont know what makes him a great back up but backups are not worth first rounders no matter how great they are. it would be one thing if they were not totally sold on bridgewater and bradford was a promising prospect, but bradford is pushing 30 with not much to show for so far in his career.

word on the street vikings dont expect teddy to be ready for 2017, that makes bit more sense i guess.

I guess I kind of glossed over the fact it was a first rounder. Yeah, that is a little much.

I doubt McCarron would have cost less.

You know what?
I'm still going to expect they now trade him to SF for Kaepernick. But I'll stick to my playoff prediction with Bradford and SB.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like Bradford is really overrated. I can't believe Philly got a 1st round pick for him.

Minnesota was better off trading a late rd pick for Foles or something.

That might be the most lopsided deal I've ever encountered. A 1st + 4th for Sam Bradford. Are you kidding me?

It's hard to say what was available but I'm sure everyone was trying to screw us. The Vikings were in a desperate situation.

That doesn't mean you pull the trigger. Should have just stuck with Hill and picked up a veteran on waivers. Just an awful deal. Sorry to lay it on. But, man.

It really was a desperation move on Minnesota's part. I don't expect Bradford to do a ton there, but he's sure as hell better than Shaun Hill. Can't imagine "better than Shaun Hill but still not really that great" is worth a 1st and a 4th though.
