OT - RealGM NFL Beat the Commish contest

Post#1 » by Dirk » Fri Aug 19, 2016 3:07 pm

Hi guys,

this is the worst time of the year for the NBA, so I thought I'd bring this to your attention, seeing as there must be a few Redskin fans here.

RealGM is running a fun contest of picking NFL games against the spread. It's quick and easy to play.

If you're interested in participating, please read more here: viewtopic.php?p=49031626#p49026190

Nice to see some participation from your fans. Very interested in the Redskins this year with Cousins. The entire division has been kind of a dogfight. What do you expect from the team?

Also hope the Wizards make the playoffs this year. I was hoping Markieff would help you get there and I know many were not happy with that trade but my guess is he will come back much more prepared this year and will do some good things. Pull for Gortat too. He was such a great finisher for the Suns and has a great attitude. And Wall is probably my favorite PG in the league other than Westbrook, though I like his overall PG game better than Westbrook, but Westbrook is just the type of player we will not see again. Big time weaknesses, but so many strengths they outweigh it. I'd still take Wall on the Suns though because we have historically had fantastic passer and I hate shoot first point guards.

And for NFL Week 1, viewtopic.php?f=139&t=1475380

Stop by and chime in if you're watching as we are trying to build the football forums. Thanks!

Yeah, Gortat's a finisher who's not much of a dunker. Probably the best in the NBA at getting layups off of pick n rolls. But because he's not flashy, he gets over-looked. After talking about Kieff, anyone would seem like he's got a great attitude, but Gortat really does. I find Kieff as a guy who's very difficult to root for - though he is an upgrade over all the other PF's the Wiz had, and he matches up well defensively against the new breed of 4's. Feel free to stop by the Skins board. I think they have a better chance of post-season success than the Zards.

Gortat is great. I will try to stop by, but try and stop by NFL General too as it is getting busy and interesting with fans from all teams, and there are many forums that have no activity, so many land there. It's fun as the season is getting underway. Good luck with the Skins this year! Very glad for you the coach had the guts to stand up against the owner and basically say "We are going with Cousins because he is simply better!" As a matter of fact, I just drafted a fantasy team in a 20 team keeper league where they asked me to take it over because the owner had left. Guess who his long term big keeper was? Peyton Manning. So I took it as a challenge and I kept Matt Jones over Eric Decker (given scarcity of RBs) along with AJ Green, Greg Olsen and the Seattle D, and as players were going in the draft, I thought "with 20 teams, I'm just going to load up on starting qbs that I think will be pretty good, and some team will be so screwed they will be forced to trade something good to me for one)...so I ended up with Tyrod Taylor, Cousins and Osweiler.
