They definitely have a good coach now, but Karl was a good coach too.
Their problem isn't necessarily coaching or talent. They have enough talent to be over 500.
Their problem is chemistry, and roster construction. It seems like they have no real plan of what they are trying to do, and Cousins is a great player, but a surly malcontent too.
It would be a miracle imo for him to resign with them in two years, which is conveniently the year before our unprotected pick.

Karl was part of the problem there. I believe a good coach can take them much higher.
What kind of talent does this team have other than cousins, gay, and Lawson? They got Darren collison, Ben mclemore, afflalo, and who else? This team does not have anywhere near the talent to compete with the rest of the west. This team's only saving grace is Cousins, and they've done a thoroughly good job of ticking him off.
Last year Karl did a pretty good job with this team. Mainly, he devised a system that got the best out of rondo and cousins. From what I've Joerger is a good head coach, but I just don't see anything positive about what he has to work with. This team is a disaster. I give Karl credit for last year, I think he got the Kings to overachieve last year, considering the chemistry issues and the complete lack of interest in playing defense. Maybe Joerger can keep the ship afloat, but I just don't see it.
I completely forgot that they lost Rondo. Yeah, they are going to have a hard time improving significantly without a good point guard.
