*edited to add that the ESPN lines are across the board pretty different from the Vegas lines that I'm finding. Is this normal?

Yes, because they can't update them after spreads have moved in Vegas since people start making their picks immediately based on opening spreads. Some were drastically different last year by the time games kicked off, from what I posted early in the week as the threads to use here, so we had the same thing last year.

Sometimes I would post the spreads a little later in the week, and I was also playing pigskin pick em, and they'd be so different sometimes I'd pick the opposite way that I did in the other one.

Originally I was hoping for 50 and someone thought that was too optimistic. Once we hit that, my goal was 75, but said I'd be happy with 70. I'd like to hit 75 of course. I think there might be some who miss the first game and sign up by Sunday too.

Strange I took Carolina but there is an X beside my pick?

Why are people who took Denver rewarded with a point when they didn't cover the 2.5 spread?

They were 2.5 underdogs. Even had Carolina hit that fg the people who picked Denver still would have won by a half point. Spreads are always listed next to home teams...if it says + they are getting points (as the dog) and - they are giving points as the favorite.

Why is there a 2.5 beside Denvers name wouldn't that indicate they are 2.5 favorites?

Man that's messed my entire life the favorite has always has the spread listed beside their name. I didn't even
notice that they have the spread beside every home teams name this is gonna trip me out and confuse me. I totally
picked Carolina because I thought DEN was 2.5 favorites otherwise I would have took the home dog.

I'm probably gonna look at other spread sheets to make my picks. At least I can edit the rest of my picks for the
week now would have never noticed other wise.

Yeah that sucks I thought for sure Carolina was going to win by 3 and I'd lose by half a point.

I also noticed that pattern, but it didn't distract me.

I hate the Panthers though. I am glad they lost. Good job everyone who picked the Broncos. Not me. :nonono:
