Packers/Queens Leadup
Pack favored by 2.5 in the opening line. Tough division road game. Tennessee did a good job on defense against the Queens but, as expected, Queen defense led them to a win. Although I expect a loss a win here would be huge.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Packers/Queens Leadup
It'll be nice to shut up Vikings fans a little early this year. Don't expect our offense to blow them out, but I expect our defense to stack 8 in the box and stifle Peterson and whomever lines up under center. If not for two defensive TD's they lose to a pretty awful Titans team that looked they just weren't ready for the regular season yesterday. Any news on the Shields' injury?

I think they need to go no-huddle more often in this game. They reeled off 2 long TD drives in the 2nd with the no-huddle against the Jags.

Maybe the stats don't support this but it sure seems as if we are much more effective with the no huddle.

Our offense came to life and racked in the points during the no huddle portion of the game. Definitely.
I think they will go back to it again next week.
I think MM will try some pounding of the football to get some long drives that gets fans sitting on their hands. And throws in some no huddle to mix it up.

Re: Packers/Queens Leadup
No huddle in a dome? Away? Opening of a new stadium where I guarantee they will be pumping in more noise however possible?
I just don't see that. Keys to the game will be not turning the ball over and getting off better punts. I really think we should get Mortell back here.
If we shank punts again...AP will take advantage of it. In fact if Ivory plays yesterday...I think he takes advantage.

I counted 1 bad punt from Schum all game. I don't see how he was a problem at all.

The Pack run the no-huddle with Aaron's crazy hand signals to combat crowd noise. The noise also impacts the defensive calls.

Re: Packers/Queens Leadup
Asked what hurt the Jaguars most, free safety Tashaun Gipson said, “Probably the up-tempo. It kind of got some guys out of whack and they capitalized on it.”
Davon House, a cornerback for the Packers from 2011-'14, agreed.
“Twelve (Rodgers) is at his best when he can run the show,” said House. “In no-huddle, check-check, run this one, run that one. Run or pass. That’s what he does best.”

Re: Packers/Queens Leadup
I think you could complain more about Hyde letting like 3 punts sail over his head to be downed inside our 5 vs. our punter shanking punts.
That's unacceptable. We have the best QB in the game - literally all we need to start a drive is to NOT be on our own 2 yard line. Fair catch the freaking football.

There's this thing called the sun. Jaguar's punt returner did the exact same thing in the 2nd quarter when they switched sides. If you can't see the ball then you need to get the hell out of the way, and that's exactly what Hyde did.

Re: Packers/Queens Leadup
Yeah it was frustrating to start inside the 5 but hard to blame Hyde for not being able to see the football inside the sun. Give props to the punter for taking advantage of it. Since we deferred we should have taken the other side of the field to start since the sun didn't appear to be as much a factor later in the game.

Re: Packers/Queens Leadup
Yeah, no way I want Hyde even trying to touch that and giving the Jags the ball at the 5 because of a muff.
Schum averaged 46 yards on 4 punts in perfect weather condition. The Jags punter was booming them. Every punt lead basically to the Jags starting at midfield. What do you think he will do when it's below zero? I am telling you by year end we will be wishing for Mortell to be back on this team.
As bad as a QB as the Vikings will have under center, if Schum keeps them at midfield after every punt AP is going to kill us.

Definitely agree to this.
First off, I'm not a big Micah Hyde fan, but no one should complain about him letting those balls go. I'd rather have Rodgers start on our own 2 than risk him muffing it and having Bortles start on our 5.
Obviously Jacksonville is going to get great field position when we're putting out of our own end zone, but I remember one punt where Schum could have pinned them inside the 20 but only got it to the 23 or so (not sure what quarter). I'm worried when it's 0 degrees and that ball is rock hard in December.
My biggest issue with yesterday's game (and this was a problem last year) is we have to find a way to cover TEs. We made a 32 year old Mercedes Lewis look like a Pro Bowler yesterday. I'm sure someone will throw out some positive stats about how TEs do against our D, but I'll save you the time because I'm interested in the eye test.
Yes they have Robinson and Hurns so the attention might come off Lewis, but we have Nelson and Cobb and Cook couldn't seem to get anything going. It's possible to stop TEs. We just have to figure it out.

I think a no huddle is precisely what you want to do to take away the crowd noise and build momentum.
There is little doubt in my mind that they'll use it next week and every week thereafter as often as the game dictates that.

It's a retractable roof so it's likely open on Sunday.

No - they nixed the retractable plan.

Re: Packers/Queens Leadup
They did? I guess it's cheaper Yup, I just read a story that they have doors that are retractable and they have to decide 90 minutes before whether they will be open or closed but the roof stays put.
