Now tied with the O's, 2 games behind the Red Sox. Hopefully the west coast trip does something to wake the bats up before it's too late.

The whole team just looks too tense at the moment.

Remarkable how fickle our crowds are, too. I realize that it's a Monday and Tuesday night against the Rays, and school is back in, but the past two games have been the first sub-40k announced crowds since the early July sweep of the Royals. We're still in a Wild Card position, and we're still a mere two games back of the Red Sox. Losing games sucks and it's something we should aspire to do less of, but it's not yet time to throw the toys out.

Fair point, might have something to do with schools opening though. Less parents with their kids at the ballpark.

They're 2-2. Not that's a big enough sample to call it a failure.

Speaking with my friends who work at the Jays they said they've been promoting these games for the past month because the ticket sales we're the lowest so far this season. A few things working against them including school being back, Tampa in town(no draw), first week of MNF and obviously non premium nights to go. I bet if we we're in 1st place, clear a couple games the crowd would've been a bit larger.
That's what she said.

our bats were swinging behind the high fastball all night -

i hated that Edward took the first pitch strike with bases loaded and 2 outs, he watch the strike go in and then chased the next pitch and missed putting him so far back in the count :( he was able to battle back only to miss the high fast just like our team was doing all night gahh

Edwin didn't likely let the first pitch go by on purpose, when you see something like that they're sitting on a breaking ball when the pitcher throws a fast ball instead. Or vice versa.

I vaguely remember the pitcher walking the guy in front of him, i thought he was taking to let the pitcher miss cause all the pressure was on the throw in that situation, but i dont know much about anything lol, that first pitch was his pitch too, inside fastball :( oh well today is anothre day

I'm just speculating but Edwin is a guy who gets the green light with a 3-0 count so I doubt that he was taking all the way. Edwin sees a lot of first pitch breaking balls with runners on base too.

School didn't stop people from coming in droves last September though.

It didn't and it's a good reminder that the crowds are going to go away next year barring some trades that bolster the team because the free agent market is weak even if Edwin comes back.

Rogers can pocket the money from the last two years and Upton and Smoak can be our 4/5 hitters.

Todays line up

Devon Travis 2B
Michael Saunders LF
Edwin Encarnacion 1B
Jose Bautista DH
Troy Tulowitzki SS
Dinner Navarro C
Zeke Carrera RF
Kevin Pillar CF
Ryan Goins 3B

Top of the line up is going to have to score the runs cause bottom of the order is looking pretty meh

Can't wait to get owned by the Angels again... and the Mariners are white hot lately. AWESOME.

Why does this 2 run deficit feel like 7 or 8 right now?

We cannot string hits together and when we score, we just give them right back.
That's what she said.
