Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
Well so far some good wins this season. But WTF was Burnley all about?? Just when you start to get that hope going, something like that happens.
Great win yesterday....but you could see the shakiness from our D. Offense seems to be in a good place. What a FANTASTIC assist from Sturridge! Just beautiful. But pair that with Lucas' gaff. I mean, what the hell was that?!?!
Fun team to watch so far, and I really like most of what we are doing. But the mistakes make me afraid to believe we're really gonna do anything of note this season.
Next 2 games are real ones. Let's see if we have it in us

Yep. Can't wait.
Beat Arsenal (road) Tie Tottenham (road) beat Leicester(home) ....Chelsea...Manure next. <---------So far not bad. We come out of those matches with wins and ties and you gotta say we are looking GOOD. I mean if we win and tie our next 2 games...why couldn't we compete for a title, right??? But then you throw that ugly ugly UGLY Burnley loss in there....and you just wonder what you got.
Hey.....every team gives one or two away. Let's hope we win the next two, and MARCH on. Im not giving up yet. We've looked pretty damn good over all. Just gotta clean the D up, and STAY FOCUSED!!!

Yeah, if we can draw with Chelsea that would be fine.

Hey Cactus....
Don't know if you got to watch the game yesterday......but they expanded the seating at Anfield. Holy-Sh*** the singing was in form! To the commentators credit....they just kinda sat quiet for a minute and let the singing go. It was awesome. See if you can You-tube it, if you didnt watch. It was really cool. After the 2nd goal. Prob around 30th minute. Somewhere in that area

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
Really like what Liverpool did during the off season.
Improved the squad and transferred some players out that helped with the fees for incoming players.
Plus last year's hiring of Klopp will prove as a superb decision from Liverpool's management.
My predictions:
1-City
2-United
3-Liverpool
4-Tottenham
5-Arsenal
It will be very hard for Liverpool to move up from the 3rd-seeded spot, but there is no chance they can compete (player wise or money wise) with the likes of United and City, but pretty sure they will be very good.

I can't see both Chelsea and Arsenal finishing outside of the top four.

I think Chelsea is a lock for top 4. It's going to be tough to break in. 4-6 is more realistic from my pov.

I don't think Chelsea will make top 4. Arsenal can probably squeeze into 4th but it wouldn't surprise me to see them not make the CL or even europe for the first time in a long time.
Man city and Liverpool are the only bankers for top four I can see at the moment.

I still believe neither one will finish the season among the top-four teams.
Arsenal must definitely look for a roster and management shake up. They have been doing the same for way too much time now. Chelsea should look for the same. Two great teams nonetheless.
Have high hopes for Liverpool this season though. Klopp was the first addition towards greatness, that is for sure.

Really impressed with the win the other day. Honestly, the boys have looked just great......but then there's Burnley. Until Liverpool knock that cr**p off.....they will never break in. For all the great play.....we're 6th in the table. So far....there's only been one game that you look at and say we "should win" this season. If we would have won that....we'd be 3rd.
3rd to 6th. Burnley.
The good news is, that after the last couple wins....I think Klopp will have everyone TOTALLY on board. This team is playing right...and everyone knows it. The next 10 games or so should be much easier than our games so far (on paper)....so let's see how we look mid-November. We gotta win these games if we want Europe next year.
On a side here.....Haven't we just heard Manure lost 3 in a row...and how it's all falling apart, and yet you look, and they are right on our arse in the standings! I don't know how they do it. They are just that roach that will not die. (yes I know...not all losses were EPL, but it's the OPTICS im talking about...aren't we 'on this tear' and they are about to implode, but then you look at the table.....)

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
Great win! Loved the intensity.....just attack attack attack attack. Hull wanted the hell out of there. The ball moved beautifully. Really, really good game all around. If we can play like that every game....we just might win the damn thing. Early going....but we don't have much besides the league to play for....so there's really no excuse for guys to take their eye off the prize this season.
So far, I'm very happy with what Klopp's got going on here. Guys are just flat out ballin. Very fun to watch.
Loved the Arsenal game as well. I'm not a big fan of Chel$ea......and finding Chel$ea fans in Los Angeles who were actual fans before the tycoon started throwing obscene $$$ at the roster, is like finding plutonium. I'm sure there's a few....but man they are hard to find. You remember Zola? Or Hassellbainkes?
Not often you get to see that team get the sh** kicked out of them, since ol' "GotBucks" bought himself an international Boy-Band for a soccer team. Was enjoyable to watch. Hope it happens several more times this year.

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
I always considered Leeds the first synthetically created team. They went belly-up. They were the New Kids on the Block. Then came Chelsea's Backstreet boys. You'd have to call Man-City InSync. Christ...the world became full of "City Die-Hards" over night, didn't it??
Hate Manure as I do.....I have always admired that Fergie built that team almost entirely from the farm. Yeah...a guy here, a guy there, but those teams were built....not bought.

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
Pardon the rant....but I just dont get the appeal of having teams like that win all the time. Take Spain for instance....how boring must it be to be a fan of Spanish soccer. Madrid, Madrid, Barcelona, Madrid, Barcelona, Barcelona, Barcelona, Madrid, Madrid, Barcelona...and on and on. It just seems like after about 10 years, it wouldnt be worth watching anymore. And if your a Madrid fan...How can wins be enjoyable? Your SUPPOSED to win! Oh wow.....you just torched Ceta-Vigo, or Real Betis for the 35th straight time....that's pretty exciting. Certainly made my week. Seems like all you have, are rare loses that totally put you in a crap mood. Like rooting for Team USA in the Olympics.
For the few true Chelsea and City fans....good on you, and Im sure its nice after sitting through 20 years of insufferable Man-Ure fans at the pub just talking smack. I get it, for you guys. But it was certainly cool to watch Leicester pull off what they did last year. I hope there's more of that in the future.
