49ers should trade for Brett Hundley

Post#1 » by clyde21 » Mon Sep 19, 2016 4:24 pm

He's rotting on Green Bay's bench currently. Offer them two seconds and make it happen. He'll sit this year out behind Gabbert and then take over next year fully prepared in Kelly's offense.

Thoughts? Analysis? Insults?

Would GB move him now without proper backup aid for Rodgers?

2 2s is a lot from us....

2 2s is what we got for the Chiefs for Alex Smith so I would like to think Hundley could be had for less than that.

I wouldn't mind the 9ers taking a chance on him as I don't know if we'll be bad enough to be in the sweepstakes for Garrett or the top QBs and the team could still use some talent in other areas.

I don't know. Maybe 2 2s is a lot, but I liked him out of UCLA, and he's shown some good things in the NFL in limited time. I don't think it's that steep, honestly.

If you have a firm conviction the guy is able to be developed into a top QB in the league then I would say 2 2s isn't steep at all.

And the Matt Schaub trade was for 2 2s and the Falcons jumped two slots in the 1st round so 2 2s wouldn't be that insane of a price to pay. It just seems high given the Alex Smith trade and to a certain extent the Bradford trade as at least those are guys with a track record and were #1 overall picks.

Considering the fact the 9ers will likely have a top 10 pick I would just offer the 2nd rounder and maybe another late round pick for him. I would think that would be enough for the Packers as they would be flipping the 147th pick for a pick that is likely to be in the late 30s for a position that they are set in for years.

I don't mean that we should offer them two seconds right off the bat. Just that it would be the price that I would be willing to go up to if it came down to it. I'd obviously start with a lower offer.

That would be a reasonable move. Could end up not going anywhere and end up burning some picks but you have to be aggressive to find a good QB. Don't think Baalke would go for this type of move though because that means giving up the ability to trade down and turn those two picks into about 30 5th, 6th, and 7th round picks. But maybe he could close his eyes and pretend he drafted WR's with those picks.
