Once you've looked at a document you've received in Mail, it's in the message. If you save it to iCloud, it's always there. There are PDF apps you can get (some free), and if you press and hold the PDF, they show up in the share sheet and you can save or open the PDF to that app. Dropbox is another way some like to save PDFs. There's no real need to keep many PDFs on the phone itself, but it's more important to know how to locate them when you need them. The few that you may need to have on your phone when you have no connectivity can be kept on the phone through Mail, Dropbox, or the PDF apps as above.

Document files created in the iWork apps are kept constantly available, even though they are not always physically on the phone. The paradigm is that you shouldn't need to know where they are, just know how to open and use the document. This works unless you're often without connectivity. If you need to work on a document in the subway, for example, you may need to open it first before you lose your signal.

This is not my year to update the phone, but I'm looking on eagerly. I've already got to wait for the Knicks, and now I've got to wait for an iPhone for another year. Grrr.

I'd like to think so, but recently, the updates are just gradual improvements over the previous year. Android hasn't done much either. I have no idea what really big feature I'd like to see, and most people I know have no idea what feature we really want to see. I'm hoping Apple can surprise and wow us all with something we didn't even know we needed.

I would assume the next model will have a screen on par with other flagships of today, wireless charging faster processor new color and a new camera (but may also see a dedicated VR headset accessories)but more likely Netflix like service home integration tech auto integration tech as they have better profit margins and allow for continued exclusivity. Just guessing.

That would be really exciting. I also saw that they may go away from aluminum cases towards using a ceramic case and little to no bezel around the screen. That would be awesome.
