Always liked Gutz he's a tough point guard with good court vision he's got a shot to make the team with Levert and Vasquez being out.

he plays hard, but he is in the sloan/larkin level or probably below that. i liked him when we didnt have alot of guys who worked hard. now thats like all we have.

Gutz is better than them.. years after his first 10 day he's still getting phone calls from the nba.
Sloan and Larkin were so bad nobody wants them.

Budinger has a shot since Beau is unproven and LeVert is out until who knows.
Looking like Greivis and Caris won't be ready for opening night.
Therefore,

Lin/Whitehead/Foye
Bojan/Skil
RHJ/Budinger/Harris
Booker/CM
Lopez/Bennett/Hamilton

he certainl is NOT better. sloan and larkin arent in the NBA because they want more then league minimum and were willing to go elsewhere to get it. jorge is wiling to take the minimum.

but he certainly isnt better then those guys. he isnt even good enough to see the floor. he is yet to even play more then 15 games for any team he has played for, and most of that time is a few minutes in garbage time.

if he had any value, he wouldnt keep getting dumped when he makes the minimum.

I think there are 14 players that are likely for the season roster, given that Greivis and Caris are looking to be out.

Lin/Whitehead/Foye
Bogs/Skil
RHJ/Harris
Booker/CMC/Bennett
Lopez/Hamilton/Scola

That leaves 1 spot, which seems like it could go to Beech or Budinger given the needs at SG/SF. Assuming that Budinger the veteran beats out Beech, I think there's a good chance that Budinger is going to be on the roster.

Well, maybe Beech beats out Budinger? Assuming it's Budinger, who plays first? Chase or Joe Harris?

budinger is much more experienced and proven than beech, beech is not beating out budinger. i still dont see where there is a roster spot for budinger. i think budinger is not going to make roster, no roster spot. joe harris is ahead of budinger. who is being waived for budinger?

I like this sign. He's long and athletic and he can shoot threes. Anybody knows about his defense?
Most NBA stats aren't credible. At most times the people who interprets those data are biased, or the data themselves are flawed. Basketball is just too complicated with so many uncontrollable variables.

Defensively, Budinger is still quite lacking. Despite his athleticism, size, and length, his lateral quickness is poor, which does not allow him to be a very effective perimeter defender at this stage. Likewise, his defensive awareness is not great either, failing to close out his man on the perimeter, not running above screens, and not looking focused for stretches of games. Considering his basketball IQ and athleticism, Budinger should be able to develop into a decent defender in the future, but it is up to him to show scouts that he will not be a liability at the next level.

On the defensive end, Budinger has continued to play well this season, though it’s worth noting that his motor is not as consistent on this end of the court, yet it’s still very solid. His perimeter defense is heavily reliant on his lateral quickness, as he’s not very physical, with his game being almost entirely based on beating his man to the spot. His lateral quickness is good, but he is a bit stiff in the hips and he doesn’t have the lowest center of gravity, so he’s likely best suited to defend small forwards at the next level, provided his body can handle some extra bulk, which it should be able to. Budinger is also prone to overplaying at times on defense, either over-rotating while leaving his man open off the ball, or overplaying in man-to-man defense, leaving him prone to quick crossovers. To his credit, he recovers well when he gets beat, sometimes being able to move laterally and still get in front of his man on the second effort.

Defensively, the sophomore guard shows good promise as well. Budinger has the lateral quickness to stay with his man on the perimeter, and positions his body well enough to cut off most defenders when they attempt to take him off the dribble. The ability to react quickly and elevate also helps him contest shots, even if he sometimes loses ideal position on the defensive end. Help defense will need to be an area of focus for Budinger, who too often got caught ball-watching on rotations. He rebounded the ball well for a swingman last season, especially considering that he was usually the first player filling the lanes next to the point guard on the fast break. The success in this area can be attributed to Budinger’s willingness to locate the nearest opposing player after a shot attempt, and use his body to keep them away from the ball.
