What would be a guess at how many total minutes our last two 1st round picks have gotten in the NBA?

You haven't even seen him play in Year 1 and you already say he can't possibly start in Year 2? If he's a draft steal, overlooked playing in a small conference, of course he can start on a good team. Kawhi Leonard started in Year 2, no? And I think there are some pretty good guys in last year's draft class who I think could start on elite teams had they been drafted by them. So you can't just shut the door and make assumptions. Not without a little more evidence.

You guys believe Ryan Wolstat has insider information

There got to be a reason why they considered Skal and Davis at 9, but then passed on them when they were still there at 27. Prior to this draft, Raps 905 drafted Pascal's brother James. When you look at was Sac got for the 9th pick, it wasn't much. We could very easily went up a spot and drafted Chriss as a potential long term 4 if we wanted to. I think the reason we didn't, is the same reason we didn't take Skal or Davis at 9, because we felt we had another hidden gem in Siakam. Maybe we knew more about him? Maybe there hunch will be right, this time. To me, it does seem they are higher on Pascal. And it seemed like that the day of the draft.

It also fits the mould. Before Bruno was drafted, there was no mention of who it was, but there was a talk internally that they felt really good about the prospects for their 2nd round pick, which was the hiding game they played with Bruno. Except, they got so excited they took him in the 1st round instead of waiting. I'm not saying Pascal's gonna be like that, because i could tell from him 1 half of summer league that he's already better. If he can get a shot, he can be really good, imo.

clearly the Raps are high on him because I would've taken skal or davis as well, and I didn't know the 905 had his brother last year. I would rather him show us and have us have to implement him into the line up rather than making that notion. I don't remember them saying that about norm, I like the path Norm took and Pascal is going to have to do the same to crack the rotation. But by next yr he's the only pf we have under contract so that's good.

Sully is taking over for scola and I believe he will play way more minutes throughout the season than Scola did last year. So he'll take some of Biz minutes too.

With Carroll starting the season, where are these kids going to get all these minutes?

Someone has to lose minutes to get these kids on the court.

-If you want to play Wright, Lowry and Cojo are losing minutes

-If you want to play Powell more, DD or Ross is losing minutes

-Pascal is going up against two vets in their prime during their contract year, how many minutes is he getting?

-Bruno and Bebe are lost causes

-Poeltl will get some of Biz's minutes but like I said earlier, Sully is playing more minutes than Scola this year, he's taking some of Biz's minutes too.

They also claimed Poeltl was "top 5" on their board. So, for Chriss to be ranked higher than Poeltl, he would have had to be higher than Dunn, Ingram, Simmons and I guess one of Bender, Brown, Murray or Hield. Possible, but I think they just passed on the opportunity to trade up because they probably didn't have him higher than Poeltl. Keep in mind that a lot of the buzz was that Chriss could play PF and SF, so I don't think position was really that big a deal. Hell, they were talking up Poeltl's potential to play the 4 in the future, too.

When you look at Davis, Chriss and Skal, they are all a pretty similar profile. Very small sample size, not so impressive stats (although Davis has good peripherals). Poeltl and Siakam were analytic monsters by comparison. Seems very much like they took the guys that checked off the most boxes, which imo matches up with Ujiri's conservative managerial style.

Casey wants Sullinger to shoot more than three 3-pointers a game for us this season and his passing will be huge.

"We'll figure out the offense" because the measuring point is still defense/transition defense for Sullinger/Valanciunas pairing.
The day you figure out offense, Casey ....

Would like to run more, but he'd rather have the efficiency of slow-down pace basketball instead of turnovers in the front low when playing fast. He doesnt know how fast the bigs can get down the court but hte wings can run.

And even Casey weighs in on the Demar being ranked 46th on the list ... sigh, what a joke

Apparently our fans want a team of players looking like calvin klein models. Sully looks a lot slimmer and kyle looks a lot more solid but not fat.

Wrong. We want them to look like abercrombie and fitch models.
