Dogen wrote:Really looking forward to this season. Love the roster and coach, and the front office has left options open to improve for the future. Will miss Turner, Sully not so much, but this lineup is at least ready to knock on the door of the house of contenders. A few crafty moves, FA signing, draft or trade and we're right in it. Glad the brass took a long view to rebuild. It will pay off.

Totally agree, I love the longer rebuild too... We're competitive and we're still adding quality young talent. It might not work as anything 'might' not work, but I'd rather do this than give 2-3 top 5 picks for a guy like Cousins....

Anyways, I'm so excited that Sully is gone. Will miss Turner. I think Turner will miss the team too as this was his first nba home. There was no way in hell we were paying 18 mils a year for our 6th man(who doesn't shoot 3s) as bizarre as the market has been this past summer. His play making/passing/rebounding will be missed for sure.
Good assessment:

What do we think of Noel's words at the 76ers' media day....the frustration of 3 starting calibre centres fighting for one spot? Could Philly see Noel let go for speaking out?

It's scary to see how quick time is flying. He's actually a vet on this team. Seems the other day he was the kid replacing Ray Allen in the starting five.

That would make Oct. 2004 seem like a run-of-the-mill comeback.

Would be great if it happened though.

Hope he can afford to get his hair put together now.

What is it when young guys hit the NBA for a year or two, suddenly they start growing all kinds of weird facial hair and hairdos like 16 year olds that just realized they can grow their hair out. It's weird but it happens with so many guys after a couple of years in.

What's James Young doing at media day? Stopping by to see the old crew?

I caught some of the live interviews: Crowder, Green, Zeller, Mickey, Johnson, Rozier, Ainge.

Now, media day is always a love fest, but this really does seem like a happy bunch overall. Was surprisingly affected by Green. I didn;t think much about his signing at the time, but he said some very nice things about the organization, and particularly about his relationship with Thomas. If he keeps true to his words and focuses on representing his team, fans and family, he might be a key contributor due to his 'spurtability' (unfortunate word, but that is what Brad apparently uses).

Essentially, Green can be our JR Smith type: a guy to come in and light it up (no, not that 'light it up'!). He seems to play off Thomas' leadership, so if IT can help him get into the flow, Green might be an ideal bench guy to come in and get some buckets.

I assume he's referring to August 2014 Paul George.
