Re: England National Football Team Thread
It was rubbish.
We lack a leader out there too.
We fumbled our way to a victory that should have been easy - and they were the toughest team in the group.
Europe (and the world) have a lot of very poor football teams at the moment.

Rashford is like the only fit prolific player in the team and he's barely playing

Re: England National Football Team Thread
Hard to call a guy who's scored 10 goals in his whole career prolific, but he's certainly the player who looks most primed to improve this team and offer a bit more penetration and edge so I get what you mean. Kane is severely off-form, he'll be fine when things pick up for him, same with Sturridge. I would play Rashford all day every day at the moment though, or Vardy.
What this team really lacks is a #10 who can create. Alli and Rooney are good players when on form but aren't true #10s by any means. I mean, we lack creative guys in the mould of Silva, Ozil, De Bruyne, Iniesta, etc. Our wingers are also mostly pace merchants and not direct enough. Drinkwater is good but consider him to be more of a ball-winning, deep-lying midfielder.

When did England have a n10 before?
Only person that comes close is Jack Wilshere for England.

Drinkwater can do all of the passes we've seen from Rooney and is a far better DM than anyone in the team. Best English midfielder by far.
Vardy and Rashford scare defenders unlike anyone on the pitch yesterday.

Alright calm down a bit there HIF
Yes he's the most in form midfielder I suppose, but he's not even close to being the best English midfielder.

You just haven't watched him enough. easily the best English midfielder and to get in the team he just has to be better than Donkey henderson.

I don't disagree with his assessment of the previous England regime. Actually, I agree with him on a lot here.
This really could be the end for him though. Unbelievable.

Howe is the best manager of that lot but why would he want to take the job on?
Maybe Pearson can have it when he gets sacked by Derby.

You know who would be good for England? Louis Van Gaal. I think he is good enough for international football.
