What is this? Preseason All-Star break? That's cruel. We've "patiently" waited the whole offseason, then they tease us with a blurry mirror badonk pic (Grizzlies game), show us the sideboob and cleavage in full detail (Cavs game) and then let us wait a whole week, all shivering and anxious... Cruel. How will we survive!

Did the Magic trade for someone who might be on a bad wheel?

For them to take an MRI on his knee is not a good sign.

F. Vogel said S. Ibaka will be available to play tomorrow night, but Vogel isn't sure if Ibaka will play since he's missed recent practices.

Frank Vogel discussing Serge Ibaka's MRI: "It's kind of what we felt. But I think it just gives everybody peace of mind."

Good to know that there is no structural damage to Ibaka's knee. However, I do find it interesting that they kept saying they weren't concerned for the last week, but yet were concerned enough to get an MRI.

Well, it's a contract year for Serge, it will be important for him to show himself healthy.

CLEVELAND — Serge Ibaka feels as if a weight has been lifted off his mind.

Ibaka traveled to New York on Tuesday to have his sore right knee examined, and an MRI revealed he has no structural damage within the joint.

"Thank God," Ibaka said Wednesday. "It feels good. I think it was important for me and for my team to make sure everything was right, just to have that peace of mind."

Ibaka revealed he had a knee-to-knee collision on the second day of training camp and the collision caused the soreness. The discomfort lingered, forcing him to miss three practice days and the Magic's preseason opener.

The team thought the soreness was not caused by structural damage, and Ibaka's check-up on Tuesday confirmed the diagnosis.

Gordon and point guard Elfrid Payton, recovering from injuries, did not play against the Cavaliers. Coach Frank Vogel said Gordon and Payton are making progress and hopefully will be able to practice "near the end of the week."

Aaron Gordon, Serge Ibaka and Elfrid Payton practiced for a second consecutive day on Sunday, a positive development after their layoffs from injuries.

"They looked like they need to get in better shape, which is as expected," Vogel said. "But all three of them have shown a little bit of what they can do, which is exciting."

An update on Gordon's ankle and conditioning:
In early September, he severely sprained his left ankle, and the injury prevented him from running for awhile and kept him out of full-contact practices until Oct. 8.

His conditioning suffered, and he lost his shooting rhythm, too.

He spent much of Friday's exhibition against the Pacers chasing George all over the floor, and his ankle hurt on Saturday from all that running. He planned to plunge his leg into the Magic's cold tub immediately after Saturday's practice ended.

"You see flashes of what he can do and how hard he worked," Vogel said. "But he's got to get his legs under him before we really start seeing what he's capable of."

Gordon to miss tonight's preseason game against the Heat due to ankle soreness, according to John Denton.

I do have some concern as to the lingering soreness in his ankle. I'd probably just rest him until the regular season at this point and let the ankle heal completely.

I don't want to see the Magic mess around with ankle injuries (Grant Hill).

Let the kid rest.

Makes sense to do that.

He won't get game rep but you can still get shots up, just keep him off of it during strenuous activities.

Ankles sprains can be a bitch the way they linger. You can think you're good to go and then out of nowhere it'll start hurting again.

Before the game yesterday, Aaron Gordon spoke to the media and said he has continued to have left ankle soreness. As a result, he has been placing increased pressure and use on his right ankle, causing soreness in both. He admitted that he's "thinking too much about them while on the floor and not enough about the game." Gordon said, "(I'm) losing my focus while I'm out there due to the soreness. Now is the time to take a little bit of time and get them right and come back for the next preseason game." He said he felt that he wasn't getting enough lift in his jumpshot and too often was coming up short.

He told John Denton that it was one of the worst ankle sprains he has had. He revealed that he initially hurt the ankle in San Jose playing 3 on 3 and stepped on someone's foot.

An update on Jodie Meeks:
In late July though, the Magic announced Meeks’ foot was not healing properly. He would need surgery to repair the problem and he would be out indefinitely.

This news was surprising and, frankly, scary to Meeks, as he told Aaron McMann of MLive.com:

“It felt fine, I took the exit interview (with Detroit), got the X-ray and all that, the bone was healed,” Meeks said. “I’ve been working out all summer and felt fine. And then after I got traded, I took another X-ray and all that, and it said I had broken (foot). I was surprised because I didn’t feel anything. So it was a little scary.”

It was very different from how the injury occurred in the first place. A little more than a year ago, Meeks reported hearing a pop as he came around a pick and roll. It was clear something was wrong.

Meeks felt frustration last year because the bone just would not heal. It was a long road to get back even last year.

This time around, it seemed Meeks was working out fine without any discomfort before an X-ray revealed a problem. The Magic likely kept things safe and opted to treat the problem early in the season.

Coach Frank Vogel said Meeks is on track for a return in late November. He was still in a walking boot during Media Day in late September, but has since shed the boot. He is able to take set shots and is often shooting free throws after practice now.

There are no indications Meeks is not on schedule for a return. Meeks told MLive.com he hopes to return to practice in a few weeks.

http://orlandomagicdaily.com/2016/10/31/jodie-meeks-latest-injury-little-scary/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
"A few weeks" would place his estimated return to play at about where the Magic expected; sometime around the end of November.
