They're pretty much unbeatable if their defense plays halfway decent. Their problem in recent years has been injuries. Big Ben or Bell have been hurt for a few years in a row now, if I'm not mistaken.

Agreed, they've been my Super Bowl favorite since the season started, and I'm sticking to that. As long as they stay healthy, and I get that that is a big IF, I think it's theirs to lose.
I guess that is, as long as they don't have to face the Eagles in the SB

Denver makes every QB they go up against look silly. They're just too good defensively. It's the same story as last year, mediocre QB + great offensive weapons + dominant defense. Like they proved last year, that's good enough to win a championship.
NE's defense has been great through the first 4 weeks. Even with the Pats playing a 3rd string QB, and Buffalo playing the game of their life (playing the Patriots is the Bills' and the Jets' personal Super Bowls), that was only a 2 possession game.
Pittsburgh's offense is just too good to ignore.
It's funny, so Denver and Pittsburgh are opposites of each other, and NE is somewhere in the middle. Denver isn't that good offensively, but is amazing defensively. Pittsburgh isn't that good defensively, but is amazing offensively. NE is more balanced and is pretty good at both, but I wouldn't say they're dominant at either.

They got shut out, but they only gave up 16 points, which is even more impressive since they weren't doing anything offensively. 16 points is a 2 possession game. With a not horrible QB, they probably win that game.
There's no spin...they weren't winning games because of their offense, which means their defense deserves a lot of credit. And their defense was good enough to win yesterday's game, the offense just couldn't do anything.
