You wouldn't be saying that if Trumbo fouled it off or whatever. It wasn't a great pitch, it also wasn't terrible.

I would be.I am saying it because he threw mostly breaking pitches all to that point and decided to throw a fastball to their cleanup hitter. Their is literally nothing wrong with bringing it up, commenting about it or preferring another pitch in that situation but the point of my post wasn't even about the Trumbo pitch.

Trumbo would have likely fouled it off if it wasn't such a terrible pitch. Most of the home runs the Jays have given up lately were bad pitch calls and location but am not really leaning toward Trumbo being a good hitter as the reason for his home run, or that he put a good swing on it. Just like the pitch from Ubaldo to Edwin was also terrible.

You do you...

Comparing that pitch to the one to Edwin is laughable.

I didn't compare the pitch to the Edwin pitch, I just said they were both terrible pitches. Not laughable at all really.

Well if it makes you happy the Ubaldo pitch was worse but if I actually wanted to compare the two pitches in great detail I would, but their is really no point in doing that in any detail other than saying they were both horrible. If you wanted a real comparison their would be stats involved and what not instead of just a simple grouping mention of them both being terrible pitches. Again the point of my post wasn't about Ubaldo or which pitch was more terrible.

Britton should have been in the game long before EE's at bat. But how do you not go to a guy with an 80.0 GB%, 8.8 FB% for a 9.14/1 ratio, with runners on the corners, one out, season on the line? Completely mind-blowing.

Stroman's pitch wasnt terrible. Low and in right on the corner right where MArtin asked for it. Gotta give credit to Trumbo for guessing a low inside breaking ball which is why he was on it.

The one to Edwin was a meatball. A fastball right in the middle of the strike zone immediately after the previous 2 batters hit fastballs on a line. No comparison.

I would argue it wasn't a breaking pitch by Stroman just by the fact that Martin setup inside. Looked more like a failed sinker to me but it's possible it was a cutter that backed up on him too. But Announcer does say it was a 94 MPH pitch.

He didn't really say that, although reports from an Orioles fan said that someone told Kim to go back to his country, which is not a good thing to do.

Also, remember when Detroit fans burned down a historic home on opening day?

Not sure then although this article says Jones said people were yelling racial slurs at them.

Better if no one was yelling racial stuff, so hopefully you are right.....

I agree with Petchesky. It's certainly possible, but that's not really what Jones said.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Comparing Edwin's pitch to Trumbo? Wow.

Wasn't a bad pitch in Stro's case, just a great hit by Trumbo.

Jimenez threw a horrible pitch.

No that wasn't the point, but it seems to have turned into that now.

I haven't followed this discussion, but I find on the internet sometimes people turn what you said, into what they think you said.

I don't know why you keep pointing out examples of other team's issues.

There's no denying that there's a culture at the Dome over the years of dude bro types that see Jays games as an occasion to get into drunken fights, particularly in the 500 deck, and particularly in losing seasons. That needs to be acknowledged and addressed. If one of the ways that's addressed is to get us a better, smaller ballpark then all the better. And whatever reason that we've had two years in a row of fans throwing beer on the field also needs to be addressed.

You should choose your words more carefully.

It's also still unclear how a fastball on the corner of the plate is a terrible pitch.

Edit: screwed that up...

And in 2013, someone threw a can of beer at Nate McLouth. A year before that, during the Lawrie helmet-throwing incident, someone hit an umpire with a can of beer.

Really, if nothing else, we need to have more respect for beer.

Check out Trumbo's heat map:

http://www.fangraphs.com/zonegrid.aspx?playerid=6876&position=1B/OF

That heat map is a total of all pitches that have been thrown too him. The red means more pitches have been thrown there, not that he crushes all outside pitches and is tied up by everything inside. That's a pitch % heatmap!

Better off looking at a heatmap like this SLG/P slugging per pitch. Particularly when said hitter has 47 home runs and a OBP less than .320.

http://www.fangraphs.com/zonegrid.aspx?playerid=6876&position=1B/OF&ss=2016-04-04&se=2016-10-02&type=5&hand=all&count=all&blur=1&grid=10&view=bat&pitch=&season=all

Notice all the red and less outside?

Aside of that, most hitters have trouble with outside pitches on the corner, something on the inside corner is just doing favors for the hitter. It has to be off the plate inside.

Haha yup, I realized that after (and edited lol).
