Because we didn't. Every time we make a trade people say Rob got hosed. And then you look back on the trade 6-9 months later and realize Rob nailed it. Perfect example is Evan Fournier. Lots of people were saying "who is that? horrible!!"..etc.

Oladipo wanted a max extension and the Magic liked Evan better so they have to move the lesser guy. Let's be honest, we never would have have gotten Ibaka for Vic straight up. He is a much better player than Vic in terms of being a proven commodity and elite defender. Sabonis was a nice pick, but an awful fit on our team. We needed physicality at the 4.

I'll go out on a limb. I think Zimmerman will be a better draft pick than Sabonis at the spot we took him compared to a #11 pick. And I think Fournier will be our best SG on this team since Nick Anderson (Tmac was more of a SF but throw him in if you want, he was incredible). He will be a better SG than Victor.

1) TMAC never started at SF for any team in his career.
2) Zimmerman hasn't shown anything to me yet. I am not even sure he will be in the league in 2 years. Sabonis at least looks like a rotation player already.

Other than that, I sort of agree with you that Magic needed to sweeten the pot, but giving up 11 and Dipo was too steep for me plus Illy who is a decent rotation 3 point shooting wing.

1. say what you want, McGrady started as a SF for Toronto, unless you are saying smaller Doug Christie was playing SF for them. And then he was playing SF to Vince at SG.

Vince Carter started at SF whenever McGrady started.

Considering he needs to add some bulk and learn the NBA game this season, I thought he showed some nice touch around the rim. This guy was projected to be a top 15 pick for a while and then fell off the map. Probably due to his arm and size. If he makes the roster and gets to practice with Frank and Co he may develop into a very nice reserve big for us.

Henny and Co. have found some decent guys in the 2nd round since they've been here. Kyle O"Quinn being one. Sure he's no all star but he's a rotation guy that's stayed in the league..

says you. ESPN and NBA.com and myself say SG. why would a team start the smaller player at SF and the taller one at SF? you think they started Christie at SF also?

Dipo isn't a scrub at all he's at talented player that will play a long time in the league and a guy you'd like to have on your team. It just came down to him or Fourn and Fourn won out by being a better shooter and more efficient in addition to costing less. He's a better fit on the Thunder than here he can just play off of the attention Russ gets.
Yeah I agree with fit, and with deciding they didn't want to pay him. and I'm happy with Fournier. I was always on board with keeping both. Just don't understand the logic of some trying so hard to convince themselves that we didn't get hosed in that trade.

because maybe some of us dont actually believe we did get hosed in that trade.

Just to be clear, I don't think we did either, I think we very easily could, but in terms of talent I don't think we lost that trade. There just seems to be this sudden anti Oladipo campaign for whatever reason that paints him as some scrub who'll be waived in a couple of years.(hyperbole) We lost out on a top 10 SG and kept Payton......

It's so weird seeing Dipo in an OKC uniform

Luckily we still have a top 10 SG on deck and were able to get a top 10 PF.

we traded a guy who could do alot of things on the court, played his butt off every night and often covered for our awful defending point guard when he was getting pwned, with two other assets for a guy who at his best is just a high level complimentary player on an expiring contract.

Awful from a value standpoint.

Oladipo at his best so far is a complimentary player on an expiring contract who was not even the best player at his position on this team.

Get over it.

Can anyone please help a dude out that would like to watch the game and currently has only the internet at his diposal?

Frontier is a difficult provider to get the plans correct btw--from day to day I have channels I didn't have before and then lose ones I'm supposed to have. They're kind of a mess.

The NBA website has put more highlights of Victor Oladipo the last 48 hours vs Real Madrid than it did all of the last season with us. The media bias towards small market teams and the sucking up to big markets is comical. Can't help but laugh sometimes.

You're referring to Okc as a big market?

Yeah I wouldn't call them one either. But having Kd and Russell the last 6+ years has made the media much more friendlier to them than they are to Orlando.
