Which position is the 2nd hardest to play in the NFL?
IMO its Cornerback. I feel like rookie CBs are the ones that take the longest to develop. Its becoming somewhat rare to see a CB come in straight from college and be a good plug in starter right away.
And a lot of times, by the time the CB develops into a good corner, his rookie contract is already set to expire.
The NFL is also turning into more of a passing league each and every year putting more stress on DBs.
But what position (other than QB) do you think is the hardest position to play in the NFL for rookies coming into the league?

I was going to say the same. As easy as it sounds, kicker has to require a pretty non-nervous mindset as well, but as just being difficult, it's gotta be corner. I'd say after that, probably C and then the other OL.

You're joking, right? Green font? The kicker has literally one job. And he makes millions to do it. Yeah, there is more pressure than some other positions, but all you have to be able to do is kick. You don't have to run, or know how to block or tackle, or put your body on the line. You only have to perform one skill. I'm not saying that it's easy to be a good kicker, but it is certainly not the second most difficult position.

i'm not joking. Its called having a critically thinking, open mind.
kicking a ball is a skill you do not have. any fool can run around chasing another guy and he allowed to let him catch it a few times without losing his job.
Kicking/kicker is only allowed to do one thing = score points, you fail and you are gone.
you of course are taught to mock Kickers. Its not that simple and yet its very simple. it is in fact harder to learn how to kick a ball far than it is to be a fat ass and get in front of people or push forward. Any fool can learn to catch or run around chasing someone. We've all done that since childhood. Go show me how easy it is to kick 45 yards.. You of course never will be able to.
only one skill? yes, the most important skill in the game; produce points from 50 yards or in.
if the rest of the team would do a better job,the kicker wouldnt have to kick as far.

I'm with you. CB's are out there on an island... and most don't win 50% of their battles. And - that short memory thing. Gotta have it. I might include the blind side offensive tackle also but they generally have someone there to attempt to clean up any "mistakes". CB gets beat - you're lining up for PAT's.

Re: Which position is the 2nd hardest to play in the NFL?
CB is certainly a difficult one, and it's almost like comparing apples to oranges because the responsibilities are so different, but I think I would say center. Any O-Line position would be incredibly difficult (not just being a "fat ass" like Ernie says). But Center is the key to all of it, and they're getting rammed the second they snap the ball, while also paying attention to the clock and snap count.

Center is a good one. You damn sure know when you have one... and when you don't.

It's amazing to me that they don't get paid more. If I'm a GM I'm paying whatever it takes to make sure I've got a top 5 center in the league.

Stephen Jones deserves a lot of credit for pritotizing the OL and putting together the best one in the league. A shame even that couldn't keep Romo from getting injured but at least they have a solid foundation in place for their QB of the future whether that's Prescott or someone else.

I mentioned kicker too. When it comes to difficulty equalling pressure in a big time game in the playoffs or something, that has to be difficult and you cannot let anything get into your head. It's not difficult as in complicated, but only so many guys can handle that type of pressure at that level.
I mean look at a lot of college kickers who are absolutely terrible...at big time programs. You'd think if it was really easy, every college would have a guy that could nail 40-45 yarders with ease. These guys often can't make them in college games, much less an NFL playoff game.
Nate Kaeding had really long streaks for the Chargers kicking FGs in the regular season but in the playoffs he couldn't handle the pressure and lost two playoff games against the Jets that they easily had in the bag and played a part in losing one to the Patriots.

I think long snapper is a good one too. That's not easy and then you also immediately have to make sure you don't get bulldozed allowing someone to block a punt or kick.
