What's the common denominator? Whomever has been the coach in the past had a problem with Brook.
I think it's because he scores a lot but not strictly in the post it's not his bread & butter.

You said it has more to do with the coach, look at Charlotte last year where Lin flourished. Al Jeferson is a scoring center similar to Brook and he came off the bench and the team was better for it. Brook has came off the bench before why not again if that works better for the team? Atkinson likes Justin Hamilton a center that can shoot threes and be part of the offense without being the #1 option. Maybe that's how Brook should play.

yeah, lets bring a 20 point scorer and the only guy that can get his own shot off against defenses consistently off of the bench.

You guys kill me man.

I just mentioned Al Jefferson and now Zach Randolph..

The Memphis Grizzlies will move Zach Randolph to a bench role this season under David Fizdale.

Fizdale said Randolph took the news very well.

Randolph came off the bench in 15 games last season.

"Let's not beat around the bush. He can be 6th man of the year," said Fizdale.

JaMychal Green will likely start for the Grizzlies at power forward.

Brook can be like that and who knows the offense might flow smoother. Instead of asking for him to play different accept who he is and tweak the system accordingly.
I'm not thinking about individual stats but how the offense and defense will flow.

Al Jefferson and Zach Randolph are at the end of their careers. Brook is in the prime of his.

so who is going to score with Lopez off of the floor? What offense will flow smoother? So you wanna start Lin/Bojan/Kilpatrick/RHJ/Booker?

LOL. Maybe the Kings should bench Cousins too, that will make them better. WTF????????

You dudes with this anti Lopez agenda kill me.

I'm actually a little disappointed in what I saw.

Unless Brook has reached a whole new level of endurance, there's no way he's running through that opening set for 35mpg.

The only players who look a bit better than last year or who definitely bring something undervalued are Kilpatrick and Foye.

Even in this basic open practice session, I'm seeing many of the same weaknesses that I've seen before. I hope we get a secondary ballhander because I have a feeling that Lin is going to be hounded a lot this season.

this is how i felt. i tried to not to read too much into a scrimmage but i wasn't that impressed.

we'll see tomorrow what this looks like outside the safe space or practice

Well.. just keep in mind this is a completely new system that's completely different for what the players run through out the years. The first 15-20 games is usually ugly until they can get use to it. I think you just have to appreciate the fact there is no dead ball, no gimmick offense, straight fundamentals, constant option for the ball handler, and player movements in every situation.

You are right though, Brook can't play a lot of minutes with this type of offense. However, I think this is the best way to make him effective to a modern NBA offense. He will probably 30 mpg. They have Bennett playing center so maybe he is our third back up.

Perhaps have Brook go to the bench sooner and then have him play with the second unit as well?

Maybe do that with Bojan too.

I wouldn't sleep on Randy Foye taking the starting SG role either. He's gotten good reviews in camp thus far and he's a better compliment to Jeremy as a secondary ball handler.

He's been a real good scorer for the majority of his career. Once his minutes got cut down in Denver with the emergence of Barton and Harris, his production and efficiency has dipped. So, we'll see if it's a sharp decline or fluky season.

However, he appears to be a better defender than Sean and Bojan. I think he'll end up running away with the job because of that end of the floor and his late game experience.

Foye is a tough dude. Wouldn't shock me at all if he bumped the younger guys down. I wouldn't mind, he can shoot the rock at a decent clip from deep and can handle the ball which would resolve the 2nd ball handler in the starting unit issue. He's also a + defender in RAPM. Backcourt would be undersized but hell who cares.

Any word on the PF position?

He's a bit of a tweener so I'm not sure whether it's the best idea to start him. Also, I've heard more [positive reviews about Joe Harris than Foye so far.

But I do agree that Lin may need a secondary ball-handler because team may indeed try to pressure him hard and Lin strength is not even ball-handling...He's not calm when he's getting hounded and pressured.

Bojan as sixth man, Foye as starter until LV's ready, I like that.

Lin can guard 2s anyways.

from the srim it seems like they really trying to move without the ball and have actions create their offense..similar to GS. you can tell by the pace, cutting after a low post pass, the one double screen away set.

BKN made a good hire with atkinson.

They're good players on good teams that's the long term goal isn't it?
Too bad the team's had a bad front office Brook could be a better player but he's had a new coach almost every year.

RHJ at power forward? LMAO..Booker at center? LMBAO take out Brook plug in Hamilton (the backup center) but that's the coaches decision.

looks like kenny likes foye at starting sg because he is a vet and plays defense, plus no one else has done better except joe harris and he will keep joe harris off the bench since he is thriving.
