We had a bad one back in 2005, Hurricane Wilma. It was a category 3, after it hit we didn't have power for over a week. We had night time curfews, no one was allowed outside after dark.

Since then we've had nothing major hit us but we've had the stupid panic before the storm people who freak out over everything.

dade county resident here,thank God that this monster is heading north and is only bringing us some rain and squally weather.i feel bad for the people of Haiti and the Bahamas which the later are taking a pounding as we speak.the bad news is that matty boy should do a loop once it nears the south Carolina coast and come back directly to affect Miami supposedly much weaker than now.we shall see....



boy it feels really weird to be hunkered down with the shutters obstructing the windows.at any rate i wish the best to all the people in central florida because its forecasted to make landfall or scrape that part of the state....
