I like the show.
too many people stressing the race thing out. Luke Cage is black and Harlem is black, so what. Let them be.
It's not like people here read Luke Cage comics and buy Luke Cage merchandise...this is the first time for most people who's getting into the character himself. Original Power Man....he's a pretty basic character to begin with. Not that deep, but thats fine. The show does what it needs to do.

Harlem WAS black. Thats what makes the show hurt more, cause its a FICTIONAL Harlem. It actually pains me to think what harlem really is in todays time watching that show. Its not a bad show, but its just not what I want to see.

Re: O.T. Netflix - Marvel's Luke Cage
While it would be absolutely awesome if the characters Woodard played were one in the same (I can just feel the fan theories forming), they are unfortunately not. ScreenCrush confirmed with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the writers of Captain America: Civil War, that Woodard's character in the movie is "absolutely not the same person" as her character in Luke Cage. They told the website in April that Robert Downey Jr. suggested that Woodard play the character of Miriam in Captain America: Civil War before the creative team knew she was going to play Mariah Stokes in Luke Cage.

Short story is that she got into it with a pseudointellectual and his lapdog, and in the end she asked one of the admins to ban her. Here´s the background:

I have not read the thread yet, but I KNEW it had to be the political thread why I saw she was no longer on the board. Good looks on the Link

She asked back in under the username "TheGreenie1" I believe. Posted a couple comments, didn't seem that into it and split again. Maybe she's just giving it a break and waiting for the regular season.
Haven't seen shammgod around at all since last season or maybe the draft.

Re: O.T. Netflix - Marvel's Luke Cage
to me the show itself is the best one yet from the Netflix corner of the marvel universe, the writing , acting and music are all top notch...the intro is weak however compared to the blood silhouettes of daredevil
I am of course more disappointed in the racial backlash in a show that is centered around a black superhero in a black neighborhood people seem genuinely surprised at a lack of diversity or merely to narcissistic and/or insecure to be able to wrap their heads around a show that is well made with virtually no mention nor need of white people on screen...
I thought the show took a lot of chances, some of which I didn't appreciate at the time, but it worked out.

yeah that pissed me off.
Only white people would complain about a lack of diversity. 99% of tv shows and movies are white.Black people get one show thats mostly black and people cry foul. I will never understand the dumb **** like that. A white person can NEVER complain about the lack of diversity in shows or movies.
Never heard white people complain there was no black people in Seinfeld and the likes. The majority of americas greatest shows never included a black person. When I saw the comments I was very heated...like WTF? are you kidding me.
