What do you base that statement on?

Just watching the game today and observing his highlights from the others. Obviously you could argue rust and him not trying to go all out, which is why I included the bit, "though it's obviously too early to make a conclusion on that." But if the elevation he got on his dunk today and his blocks both today and in the other preseason games is what's expected of him going forward, then he's definitely lost some leaping ability since his college days. This guy was a freak at Kansas. Just look at his workout video before the draft.

Again, maybe he's just working his way back and not trying to injure himself. I obviously can't comment on that for sure. All I know is he showed off significantly more athleticism in his college games than he has in the preseason so far.

Don't like the way he lands. It's awkward and ungraceful. Can't be good on the joints.

He's got the tools to be a dominant and impact player on both ends. It's just he's still getting used to the NBA.

he looks good. im actually surprised, i thought he would look awful. not sure i see anything really "generational" like people hype him up to be but he definitely has really nice athleticism despite the time missed

Hope the guy can stay healthy.

Even if his athleticism is diminished from 3 years ago and he only lives up to 75% of the hype, that still makes him a top tier center and a franchise building block. We'll see how he holds up after an 82 game season.

He looked good last night, better than the other two games imo, he has a nice touch but I hope he doesnt fall in love with the jumper, Im sure he will only get better as the season goes.

I also think he lost some of his athleticism since the draft but maybe its just the added weight or not playing for 3 years, Saric and him already playing well together and when Simmons is back the Sixers will be very fun to watch.

I just hope he can stay healthy because he just seems kind of reckless out there, every time he falls down it looks scary to me that he might get hurt, especially with his size.

Philly may finally trade Noel or Okafor. Embed looks good.

NBA's a talent contest more than anything, so better be careful in trading assets.

He's still folding up like a taco during routine plays, not liking that.

I've never seen someone with that kind of agility and footwork have such noodle legs. It should be impossible. And it makes it hard for him to leverage his strength.

Good to see him out on the court though, I bet he's thrilled.

He was already raw and he's been sitting out for 2 years I wouldn't expect for him to look like a generational talent right now. He looks decent and for now that's enough.

so 76ers gave up on Okafor already? I wouldn't trust Embiid till he can prove he plays 70 games in a season.

that post move was legit. he looked like he'd been in the league 15 years instead of 2 on that play.

He looks like he has some serious length. Anyone know what his measurements are?

He's reportedly grown 2 inches since the draft and is reportedly 7'2 and either 270 or 280 depending on how many Shirley Temples he's had that day.
The feedback I've received from our fans is they understand we are trying to build something great. Good decisions come from having a broad set of options and making tough calls. We will do it unblinkingly. We have to be willing to take smart risks-Hinkie

This was my takeaway as well. He looks much larger than I remember him bejng at Kansas.

Overall I was impressed. Great agility for his size, nice shooting stroke, clearly an impact player.

Big question mark is his health. His landings are a bit awkward. Needs to strengthen his base.

I don't know about the 7'2", as he didn't look much taller than Marcin Gortat. He's tall enough however, and has looked quite promising. I'm wishing the young man well.
