If Booker were in the East he would make it to the ASG, still hoping he makes it out in the west but we have too many all star caliber guards already he's probably going to have to average around 25ppg to get in.

He will be invited to all star weekend either way. It's not as much a matter of how many points he scores because it will be a coach's decision and the more votes he gets would likely make them consider him more. The good thing is that Kobe isn't a shoe in. I think you have Curry, Westbrook, Paul, Harden, Lillard and that's all that I can think of that probably for sure get in ahead of him. Lillard partially because he got screwed last season because Kobe got voted in.

Usually more players from really good teams make it over those from bad teams, but the only guy I can think of that could make it over him is probably Thompson, and maybe if Portland is playing really well, and McCollum is playing awesome, him. Oh, and Conley possibly.

I can't remember how many guards make it, but if it is 7 he might have a pretty good chance.

Book does remind me of Roy a good amount.

That last post on the Bledsoe thread about Booker on the general forum by Flying Colors deserves And1's from everyone.

Prime Roy > Current Thompson

Prime Roy was a legit 20+ppg scorer with 5rpg and 6apg seasons. Just super high BBIQ, great control of tempo and the ability to look for advantages against his defender despite not having a super athletic style. I much prefer the Roy comparison than Klay, who to me is primarily a scorer while Roy does a bit of everything while being a great scorer.

That's ridiculous. Did anyone even suggest he should be in the ring of honor? That tweet is ridiculous too though. "Nash drafted to SAVE the Suns"?

We had Kidd and KJ at the time. Nash wasn't drafted to save the Suns. We traded him anyway.

Yep, I feel a trio going forward of Booker, Chriss, Okafor feels better than book, the kid and Len.

It's Espo trying to create a false narrative suggesting there's actual human people that is already thinking he should be on Suns ROH. He's trying to make himself look more balanced and less on Booker's nuts

What bothers me is the fact that some fans are projecting their desperation for a star and success on the 19 year old. They’re so consumed by the desire to no longer be losers that they’ll take a 34 point preseason performance as if it was a triple-double in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

Who is making that equivalency?

Even if an “insider” seems to think a great preseason performance is all they need to see.

“My confidence is always like that, wherever I’m at and whoever I’m playing against,” Booker said. “Now I feel like I’ve earned that respect around the league. People understand what kind of caliber of player I am.

“Game respects game. People know who has game. Everybody in the NBA can play but there’s that next level that people understand.”

“He scored every way possible so you like everything that he did,” Watson said. “You can tell 19 years of age and his maturity and patience in the half-court and the way he can score is very unique. I’m not sure there’s a lot of people his age or a lot of people in the NBA who can do that.”

Someone brought up Kobe on the general board when talking about Booker, which I want to be careful about because it can be premature to make such comparisons and those things usually get shut down there, but I decided to do some comparisons, and found this interesting.

Only difference is the 6 trips to the line per game.

And that little thing called defense.

Maybe this is just my perception but I had thought Kobe avoided defense for the first few years of his career? I do remember the year he took the challenge, so to speak, and became a great defender for awhile but maybe he wasn't as bad as I'm remembering in his earlier days?

In addition to the free throws mentioned earlier, I'd say Kobe's ability to score while closely guarded is something Booker has yet to master. Devin is deadly when he gets an open look but he needs that look. Although now that he has improved so much with his ability to pull up in mid-range, he should be able to counter the perimeter defense a little better this season.
