Best preseason surprises so far:

Tarik Black - He's sooo athletic. He's played well on both ends of the court, and with a ton of energy and athleticism. Has he always been this good? Or, is this his big FU to Byron for not playing him last year. Regardless, he looks great. He should be getting way more minutes this year.

Jose Calderon - Wow, for a guy who's career is "over" he really knows how to run that second unit. And his ability to hit threes is a huge upside. He's done a great job controlling the pace, setting up the youngsters, and taking shots when he needs to. I'd be surprised if he hasn't already sealed up the back up PG spot.

I think we all knew the young guys would be good. The Breakfast Club has had an impact on all their games. Russ, JC, Randle, Larry, and Tarik all look improved. Zubac - we have no way of knowing, but he looks great also. Brown - needs to put up more shots for us to know for sure if his game has improved. It's his job to break into the line up and show us what he has. If we don't see him, then he's just not there yet. So, we'll see. Either way... super excited to see more from all of these guys this year. It's gonna be a fun year gentlemen!

Also... not that it matters... but Russell IS our best player. So everyone just get over it now, and let's move on.

Roster is full of talent and a good, healthy competition for PT will just make everything better.

Would like to see how Russ will fare against a high scoring PG like Dame. Would be a great matchup.

If the Lakers are trying to win as many games as possible this year, I think a lineup of Calderon/Russell/Deng/Randle/Mozgov would produce the most wins.
Ingram just needs to stuff his face with food.

I don't think there's enough athleticism in that lineup. I think JC has to start.

Russell should be able to score on Lillard. Stopping Lillard is a different story......

btw, where has WarrenPeace been the last few games?

Black is never a surprise he has always been good just been used the wrong way by wrong coaches ie Jordan Hill .. I'm expecting big things from him this year and he could make the starting role especially the way Mozgov has been playing

Even though Mozgov is more then likely to get the starting role, he hasn't deserved it during summer league, his been playing bad so far - I'd give it too Black. But in saying that Black might end up being our Jordan Hill, the type of guy who'd love the starting role but probably can't last It and suits better off the bench.

I reported his post lol. Gets under my skin how the topic is ok for him to give his opinion on and toss in his two cents, but at the same time it's lock worthy and the OP can't even reply.

This is a good test for our backcourt. Lillard in my opinion, is the 2nd best point guard in the NBA. I want to see if Clarkson's defense really has improved. Want to see how well he does guarding Lillard.

Oh, ok. I was about to do the same lol.

I got into it with him last year around mid season regarding D'Lo. He's very adamant on his position. Truth is we only went back and forth a couple times but the rest of the board was destroying him cause half way through the discussion we found some old posts of his from draft night talking about how horrible and what a bust D'Lo would be in this league. He has stuck by that position ever since.

F that dude, he's so annoying.

It's like he is using a thesaurus every time he tries to post something just to make his argument sound better.

Read on Twitter

I usually take his commentary with a grain of salt since he's usually biased against the Lakers, but found this interesting.

Later he revealed who it was:

Spoiler:
Nick Young

I'll be looking out for it next game

I'd trust his eye when pouring over gametapes as I usually pay much less concentration when I'm watching games on tape delay but I thought Young was very involved in the screening action for a lot of possessions and his offensive role by design appears to be sitting in the corner waiting for the kick out from Russell so its hard to not know that role.

I remember that  He was crapping on Russell after his big game against the Nets, and I found this post to show why he was so negative:

Of course they will, it was. Jim "Dolan 2.0" Buss special.

DAR is a small guard with clear limitations. Unless he magically turns into a nash/paul/steph kind kf player (wildly unlikely), he's just another small guard.

I believe this game is going to be a real test for our team. I am not expecting us to win but i want us to stay close through out the game and not get blown out. If we are able to do that I will say we are in a good position. This is our first playoff contender team in the preseason.
