Brett Brown said he hopes he can play Embiid 20-24 MPG when the season starts. I'm so happy right now.

The guy can be a perennial all star and mvp. Really. He´s big. He can get rebounds and block shots just because of his size. And he´s good on offense. Let´s see how injuries treat him, but if he´s never injured (with a big injury. Because of his size only he will miss games here and then) and hie matures a little, he can be a 25/12 kind of player.
Dwight Howard wasn't a 7 footer, and he was a defensive force. His height had nothing to do with his offensive limitations which Embiid has shown he doesn't have (embiid clearly has moves and skills already even at this young age). that extra inch or two doesn't do much anyway, your arm length at that point takes over.

He really does look like he could be special. He has a great stroke, and overall, a nice obvious skill set for a big man. He really reminds me of Hakeem. Yes, I said it. If he put in the work I know he can be as good. It's all about how his body holds up.

It's funny that he said that he will not have problem finishing on the pick and roll while the video showed a missed wide open dunk. I think Embiid still has no power in his legs.

Agreed, he lacks the explosion he had in college but he also has put on weight which could be contributing. Also, I do not like his awkward landings...needs to be more coordinated if he doesn't want a freak accident.

He's timing is off. So far no issues with his lack of athleticism. And with regards to health, only be scared if the team further limit his minutes.
Nevertheless, he's still more upside/promise than production IMO. Unlike others, I think he needs to find ways to have more positive impact on offense.
He has the tools to be a dominant two way player. And by that I mean being a scorer who can create shots at will and anchor a D.

Embiid was never that explosive in college.
It's a myth that he's some explosive athlete vertically.

Many got fooled on the hangtime with his between the leg dunks. Only experts knew it's in slow mo.

I disagree. He was no Dwight Howard, but he was a great athlete for his size. Judging by where his head got compared to the rim on some of these dunks and blocks in the video below, I'd say he had at least a 32 inch vertical (listed at 7 feet with shoes in college so that would put his head getting 4 inches below rim level), and his quickness for his size was just jaw dropping. I watched every Kansas game that year with Wiggins and Embiid so I got to see a lot of him in action.
Even if his athletic ability doesn't return to that level though, it shouldn't matter too much, as his combination of size, strength, and skill is just unbelievable.

He is special laterally, which is more important anyway. But he's never been that impressive to me vertically.
Yes, if he has a clear lane and can gather for a 2 foot jump, he can elevate. But he's never really shown the ability to suddenly plant and explode upward.
Again, not really a big deal. He's still an obvious all star talent.

He needs to cut like 15lbs not for BFP reasons but just for pending mobility issues that are due to arise with that frame of his. Other than that he looks rly promising and will no doubt be the biggest guy on the floor most nights

He said that he wants to lose some weight before the season starts. Right now he is at 275 and he wants to be under 270.

Doesn't look as agile or as athletic as he did in college, but I'm going to attribute that to his weight gain. Once he cuts down a bit and gets acclimated to the speed of the game again we'll really see what he can do.
