Best Defensive effort - JHam (but it's not saying much as our defensive effort this game overall was bad).
Can you post an explanation for this stat? The data is pretty useless if we don't know what its recording.
Would you want a technical (equation-based) explanation? Let's start with a simplified version first - let me know if you'd like more details. GCP (Game Contribution Points) - is a simplified way of presenting the Basic Stats of players (i.e. the one complicated table you see in NBA which tracks points scored, time played, shot attempts, assists etc. etc. This score is normalized against time-played (for some factors) as well as normalized against the overall Team Performance. The short gist of it is - anyone scoring above 20 is good, anyone scoring from 10 to 19 is giving a normal performance, anyone doing below 9 is really developing (or in the case of regular players, not really putting in any effort).
For the Offensive Effort and Defensive Effort - I am trying out a different calculation which is normalized against the Total Performance Scores (of both teams) - I haven't displayed the players' values as yet, as I am trying to figure out what is a good benchmark in terms of scoring - perhaps after 8 or 10 games I will have a clearer idea, currently I am listing the top few players (generally people scoring above 5).
