It's going to take some time for his accuracy to adjust. Because before his injuries, the rim was taller than him.

Thanks for proving my point.

Those other rookies must all get injured or be really bad if a guy who plays 15-20 mpg and sits out back to backs wins the ROY.

He's playing 20-24 minutes a game to start the season and he'll easily put up better numbers in those minutes than any other rookie. Buddy Hield should score a lot of points, but won't have the all around numbers or impact that Embiid will. Can't really see any other rookie putting up the numbers except maybe Saric if he starts at the 4 and gets huge minutes in Simmons' absence.

Anyone notice how much Embiid likes to use his right hand? Literally every single video is him going to his right hand.
Look how bad he had to twist his body to dunk it with his right hand. Would have been so much easier if he knew how to use his left hand.

At least he's not shooting jumpers with his left hand.

Who expects a right-handed player to do a left-handed, flying, tip-dunk of a missed 3 pointer. Interesting that you feel that is "easier". Where do you go to see something like that?

If you always use your right hand, you're at a disadvantage on the left side - point I am trying to make.

Are you serious?
the ball is moving to the left of the basket. His left hand would have been closer and in a more natural position to reach it. He had to twist his whole body and awkwardly catch it and dunk it with his right hand.
Look what Lebron does here. Not sure if you're aware, but a basket has a right and left side.
The play you show isn't remotely the same. Lebron's was in a half court set from a position where he was already under the basket. Embiid's was on a fast break, on the run from the middle of the Key.

ok, maybe you're right. It does look like he is coming from the middle, although he finishes on the left side. Anyways, just thought that I don't see Embiid use his left that much. Will watch him more during the season

To be clear, he's scored 36 points in 50 minutes so far. That's 18 points per 25 minutes. After not playing basketball for 2.5 years. If he can keep something resembling that up and be efficient at all (and maybe get an assist or two) he'll be in the running.

Well like I said he needs to increase his efficiency. ROY is generally about the counting stats though.

Including tonight's game he's also 20/24 at the line, showing a good shooting stroke.

Damn shame he lost that athleticism. ........double double in 13 minute 1st half.
