We will lose the Warriors game. I won't even watch it. The rest we better get wins!

Being realistic means I will be happy if we meet or exceed expectations. I think anything can happen, but I realize we are young with two of our better players coming off of injuries and most of our vets are journeymen. We have a few good pg and a promising young sg and sf, but I realize they will take some time to reach their potential and particularly their prime.

I think we could do well.

But if I set my expectations at being 500 or winning 8 out of every 10 games I am likely to be pretty disappointed.

I'd like the team and players to set those expectations for themselves though.

We've got our full roster back, and though Bledsoe/Warren need to shake off some rust I think we can realistically win most of our first 10 games.
Thunder look good on the block with Kanter/Adams, and good on paper, but I'm not entirely convinced they are a playoff team yet.
Blazers completely overperformed last year and all their players just got paid, I'm guessing maybe not everyone cares so much about winning ball games, especially when Lillard is throwing concerts so he can be a rapper and Crabbe is always out at the club every time I go out. And I don't go out much! Maybe it's just a coincidence IDK, but I hear reports that he's constantly downtown.
Pelicans, again I still don't know what their offense is. They got Gentry running the show and last year they looked terrible. You take Gordon/Ryan Anderson off their squad, and then minus Jrue and Tyreke and I smell trouble. They signed Lance Stephenson for goodness sake.
I can't take the Lakers seriously.
Pistons will definitely be a tough game even without Reggie, but we're at home. Plus Marcus Morris there and the crowd is going to boo him like crazy, this should amp up our players.
Nets should be a win too. Oh and Kings should be a win just because I don't think Cousins is very happy there.

I know I'm looking at our roster with a glass half full perspective and other teams with the glass half empty perspective but oh well, Suns fan in me. Would I bet the Suns would start 8-2? Maybe in Vegas for $20, I'm sure my odds would be stacked against me but if I won, oh man! :D

*edit* And there ya go, AD getting injured again. Can't take the Pels seriously.

Well, for the record, I'm HOPEFUL we finish 8-2 as well. I'm hopeful we finish 10-0. OKC does have good players on the block. They also have a pretty good backcourt in Westbrook and Oladipo. And we both have decent vet PFs in Dudley and Illy. They have a more ready to contribute rookie at PF too in Sabonis. Chriss has more potential but more raw and not as refined with as good as an all around game.

I'd take TJ more than anyone they have at SF definitely, but Roberson is a pretty good defender and getting better at hitting the 3. I was 6th man rankings and Knight was 6th but Kanter was 1st.

It will be a fun game though. Hopefully they all are.

I voted for 5 but if I has to vote now I would pick 3. No way Suns win against any team with decent frontcourt. I think one of Blazers games, Fakers and Nets. Unless AD don't play then 4 games.
I'm prepared for 0-4 start anyway.

I was feeling optimistic when I said 4. After watching us in preseason, 4 is starting to look way too optimistic to me. I was more impressed in each of the 3 games I've watched the Lakers play than I have been in any of our games. I haven't watched the Kings yet, except for their Lakers matchup, but right now, I don't know who in the Western Conference we might be better than. I think 1 win, tops.

Yeah, I'm really bummed about our center play and it's coloring my perception of this team's immediate future, perhaps overly so. With Chandler nagged by injuries and Len nagged by failure, we look to have, by far, the worst center situation in the league. Maybe that will change but considering that just a few weeks ago I was expecting it to be our safest position, it has me very concerned.

If we can't count on both of those guys to control the center, we're going to end up having to play far more of Tucker and Dudley than I had thought and that's very alarming. I was so looking forward to spreading the court with 4 guys that could shoot and move. Intriguing lineups such as Bledsoe, Booker, Bender, Chriss and Chandler or Bledsoe, Booker, Knight, Chriss and Len can't exist if Chandler isn't healthy and Len isn't effective.

Any changes on thoughts for anyone here? I originally picked 3, and I was just looking at our next five games and I think we should still be able to get to 3. Three of the teams are not very good and we've always matched up well with Portland. Detroit should be an interesting one.

The Pelicans played awful the other night so it feels like an easy game but they should be hungry for their first win. Brooklyn is playing FAR better than I ever expected, despite one bad game against the Bulls. They've beaten the Pacers and Pistons and nearly beat Boston and Milwaukee on the road. Lakers playing fairly well for the most part too.

Well, we've DEFINITELY exceeded your revised expectations and have already met mine, and with a win Saturday, we can beat my expectations as well, AND the young guys, except Ulis have gotten play, so I'm a pretty happy man to start out the season.

Yeah, it helps that Chandler's been pretty good and Len has been better than he was showing in preseason. I originally expected 4 wins, now I'm disappointed we didn't win 6 or 7 of them. And I don't understand why Chriss is getting minutes and Ulis isn't?

Ulis seems ready but Chriss has looked like he should have stayed in college for a few more years. I don't believe you can win many games with him getting serious minutes. He just doesn't understand the game. Last night, against Detroit, he drove the lane and had his dribble picked but he still went through the motions, jumped to the rim and even hung on it. All of this while the ball was live and headed the other direction. I've never seen that before and right after that he stood around arguing with the ref while the live ball again headed down court. Scary stuff from a high draft pick.

We must win next Saturday and get that fourth win, the Nets are the second worst roster in the NBA and we have to take advantage of that. We play at home and we are fully healthy (but Chandler maybe out).

I know that they have won three games like us, but I think they are not in the same tier as a team. We need to show it.

They are not bad when Jeremy Lin is healthy. He won't play in next game I think so we should definitely win.
