Clinton's team strategizing how to keep citizenry "uninformed and compliant". Yet guarantee this will get no play because "Russia".

I don't think your conclusion correct. It sounds to me like the Clinton folks are trying to engineer a more policy-driven--and less entertainment-driven--presidential campaign.

But if this is the strategy of the Clinton team, as you suggest, it's clearly the wrong one. Because the more "uninformed and compliant" citizens are the more likely they'll vote for Trump.

It's not clear to me who the "we" in "we've all"" is referring to or whether this statement was intended in some way (provocative, sarcastic, symbolic, etc.) other than face value.

It's why this data dump is too little (too much) too late. So many documents, requiring both validation and contextualization, so late in the game, weighed against Trump's own recorded words (may call for contextualization but are self validating).

My latest conspiracy theory: Assange intentionally waited to release documents so they would have no effect on the election outcome (or perhaps, to embolden an already unhinged Trump), while continuing his Cyber-Robin Hood legend. I will be calling a press conference later today where I will release evidence supporting this wild speculation.

The staffer who wrote it actually "clarified" the statement via press release and made it worse, ha. I'll find the link on Reddit.

The amount of hacking going on currently is hilarious, great material. Anonymous deleting the entire "correcttherecord" group's database is their biggest coup in my opinion. They said something along the lines "Fact Check: Your server got owned. TRUE". Ha

I just read the clarification and it pretty much confirms what I was thinking, that "we" refers broadly to everyone participating in a dumbed down, non-policy driven, two-party discourse, not to a Clinton campaign conspiracy. There is a quite a bit of irony in the contrast between what the email is actually saying and what conspiracy mongers ("theorists" gives too much credit) contend it is saying.

When things like this start routinely being characterized in earnest as proof of evil partisan machinations, I start to wonder if the accusations are themselves part of a conspiracy. Throw enough conspiracies out there, and they start to become interchangeable, all examined through the same scratched, blurry lens.

There is something fascinating about being controlled by a conspiracy based on nothing being a conspiracy.

Gmail was chosen for that fancy two-factor authentication functionality....which they don't use.

Just to be sure, are you still reading that email as proof of a Clinton campaign conspiracy?

I think this is a better answer. Debating one questionable email when there have been hundreds (soon thousands) ignored by the media, this seems more appropriate.

I love how infuriated the religious right is at Clinton for ALLEGED comments not made by her regarding some of the cuff remarks about Catholics and evangelicals. Give control of the country to these inbreds and you have your very own American Taliban.

Yeah. This stuff is pure comedy. I sincerely suggest people follow a variety of the anonymous accounts to read about how they are hacking these people.

They provide a great dose of comedy in an otherwise depressing saga. Ha.

Still love the line "Seriously John at this point, go to pen and paper."

After the election hrc won't be able to hide behind trump any more. Trump is actually her best defense against wikileaks right now.

Excellent point, they're catering to the Clinton supporters today, however after she's won and Trump is irrelevant...they'll attack her for the ratings.

Too much free content in the Wikileaks dump for them to create stories/sell ads on.......

And the Republican Party will have another round of soul searching as they look back on an election that they might have won with another perhaps more centrist (or at least more palatable) candidate.

It's certainly time for both parties to try and move on to more next generation candidates. Hopefully ones that aren't related to past presidents.

That is more to the point. I think outlets (those at least that are actually covering) just need to focus on the email server and tit for tat political favoritism and not get lost in some of these new world order-type scenarios. Cockamamy conspiracy theories aren't required to prove bribery and other forms of corruption, and introducing them tends to undercut more concrete evidence.

I was feeling icky looking at these emails, so I've stopped. Yes, they're interesting from voyeuristic perspective, but I'm sure some folks found Kate Upton's leaked photos interesting as well. We're looking through the fruits of a crime; it's no different than the Fappening.

Didn't mean to. Just sorta happened. We were kidding around about something and I just lost myself. :P

We dated four years and I wish I married her ...

Right, AFM, who hasn't ... I remember one stewardess pretty much throwing her hip into my shoulder each time she went up and down the aisle. :P

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/cia-prepping-possible-cyber-strike-against-russia-n666636

This is hugely irresponsible. Anonymous has openly claimed doing all the hacking, even detailing how and laughing at the US administration blaming Russia for political convenience.

Reckless
