Ricky has the ball a lot in transition, but once in the half court offense he is constantly running, cutting and passing. Since he is not looking for his own shot, you hardly will watch Ricky trying to create something with the ball other than Pick and Rolls.

It's not about 3 pointers. It has to do with shooting and scoring.
It's just common sense that if your primary ball handler can't score, it makes it much easier for the defense vs somebody who is a threat that needs to be guarded with all out effort at all times. That's something you can't see in the box score but it's very very obvious when you watch or play basketball games.
Did you know how good our starting 5 was last year offensively? . Even the Warriors with Curry at PG and Offensive Guru Steve Kerr didnt have a better offensive rating than them. And that was with Rocket Scientist Sam Mitchel at the helm.
When Lavine, Wiggins and Towns hit their prime there isnt gonna be a best PG for them than Rubio.
MAYBE YOU CAN HAVE SOME OTHER CONCLUSSIONS ABOUT THIS POINT, I would like you the share your toughts on this.
It give mesome evidence to think:
1) Defenses respect Ricky shot with his feet set
2) Defenses know that they must respect Rubio court vision and passing enough to close the gap on him
The defense could know that Rubio isnt gonna be shooting long 2 or 3 from the dribble (which are the worst shots in the NBA anyway, and that count for Curry and/or Irving too), but ricky is a playmaker, one of the most effective and cheapest aroud the league. He dont take shots away from them and keep defense on his heels trying to figure out where and when somebody will receive the ball in a hot spot.
If Thibs can make the team play and average defense like a unit, Rubio will be a pest on defense and those who doesnt care about advanced metrics will understand why he is considered one of the best defensive PG around the league for those who does.
