"is this the must win for the dodgers?" the first idiot asked the second idiot
"absolutely" the second idiot replies.

no ****? but do they remember we lost the first two games in the Metropolitan Stadium and yet we still came back to beat them in 7? of course we want to win, nobody wants to go down 0-2, but this is painful having to listen to these idiots while Vinny is sitting at home.

did not like any of our guys' at bats in top of the first. utley should have known better than that 4 pitch K, Seager looked like he knew it was a changeup, but he simply missed it with that last swing. hopefully he gets the movement recognized next at bat. Turner should have been ready for that first pitch. it was obvious to me Kyle was not about to miss the first pitch and with two outs and nobody on, he wasn't gonna over-use his breaking stuff already. that was gonna be a hittable fastball right down the middle...

well, at least.... here comes Kershaw.

Quake Griffin wrote:Neddy, I completely agree. Last night as a frustrating game. Tons of balls lined right at infielders and Dexter Fowler (who is not known for his defense, sorry Fox Sports 1). I was even watching the bottom of the 9th with cautious optimism because Rodon did nothing but give up hard contact and LUCKILY got out of it. I didn't have high hopes for that game but once I saw all the liners at IFers and Javy Baez get a run on a bloop because we played the infield in, I got angry and wanted that game more than ever. I thought we'd get it but oh well.

we established a few things last night.

#1, Jon Lester is not invinsible. we hit him hard, and if we see him again, we can fleece him.

#2. Gonzo caught up to that 100 mph fastball of Chapman and hit it right down the middle. he didn't push it, he wasn't guessing and got lucky pulling blindly. he aimed for it, made the contact at the right angle, and did not lift it or beat it into the ground. he got the sweet spot of the bat, maybe slightly below, but I was very impressed that he did not just swing and miss it. I was very afraid, have been thinking his bat speed has been slowing down for the last few years but each time he proves me wrong, at least when we needed him the most. his leadership alone, as the TV was showing him talking to Puig before Yasiel's bat, tells me Gonzo's leadership maybe worth keeping him through the end of his contract, as long as we have someone to spell him and share the at bats. preferably a righty who can doulbe as a professional pinch hitter, in the form of Olmedo Saenz.

#3. I did not like that the plan did not work out, but I like the fact that Dave is methodical when it comes to his decision making skills. he ceratinly is not one of 'the "Gut Feeling" guys like Dusty. in a bigger sample, the consistently right decision making will percevere.

#4. their situational lefties do not scare me. I think the Nationals actually had more effective lefties, they were just getting misused. I would not assume the same with Maddon but I don't believe he has better tools to work with.

okay, 10 minutes to go. love Snoop's prediction. we are gonna make this happen!!!! where is Pantone 294? I wanna see our guys cheering the **** out that stadium!

Yep.

+1

I don't believe in all that "statement game"/ "must win" garbage unless it's a winner takes all.

IDC how we win 4.
Win 4.

With that said A-Gon shutting me the hell up.

Glad Grandal took a walk.

Let him face Toles and throw some more pitches.

29 pitch count for Hendricks. better, but still not as good as we should have done. was hoping to get to Kershaw's at bat but at least we have had two great hits off of him. Joc's hit could have gone out too if it was just a 1 mm closer to the sweet spot, or 0.05 second faster with his bat speed. we are gonna break this open in the next 2 innings. I can smell it.

damn that second pitch caught the edge. just touched it and Eric Cooper blew it again.

great play by Seager, but that at bat should have been a three pitch K for Clay.

Finally got one of those Rich Hill 3/4 slot fastballs for a swing and miss in the postseason.

Seager with the range as well.
3rd Baseman eh? Not so fast.
