Any chance of getting rid of max salaries or at least raising the cap on them?

Draymond really going to make me root HARD for Lebron in the finals with those comments about Pierce. What has NBA come to? :(

Random thought- just watched Lakers vs Blazers preseason highlights and saw both Morzgov and Deng are on their team on long term deals? I mean why would they use 35 mils of their cap or 34 for 2 fairly irrelevant guys?(16 or 17 for Mozgov and 18 for Deng)
Good assessment:

Why? Because Jim Buss hired his horse-track buddy, Chaz Osborne, to be a talent scout. Chaz's previous NBA experience prior to being hired by the Lakers involved him watching games on the TV while he served up drinks as a bartender.

Here's an idea. Don't expand. Move duplicate teams that hardly anyone wants anyway.

Move the Clippers to Seattle. Rename them the Supersonics. Nobody will miss the name.

And the Nets can go to your favorite alternate city. I'd pick Louisville over Las Vegas just simply since Kentucky is such a big basketball state. Rename them the Colonels. Nobody will miss the name Nets and it would be awsome to have the old ABA Kentucky Colonels live again!

Vancouver will have the same knock against it Toronto does. Wonderful city but being in another country and having higher taxes will work against it in getting free agents. Mexico City will have it even worse being in a foreign country speaking a different language beset by numerous security concerns. While as a franchise it will have trouble getting it's footing adding a Mexico City team would be great for the league. But it is doubtful they can produce a winning team and the travel schedule would be brutal. The city closest to Mexico City is San Antonio. And that would still be a greater distance than going from Boston to St Louis! Though they won't have the huge size of Mexico City you might be better off with a city closer to the border such as Juarez, Tijuana or Monterrey just based on geography.

I liked those signings by the Lakers, two mediocre vets who can be semi-reliable and handle the press, locker room, etc. on a losing, developing team. Hasn't hurt their cap situation much.

Btw looks like the move by the Bucks is Michael Carter-Williams for Tony Snell.

Ty Lawson was late to a shoot around while the Kings were in Vegas. Then he missed a flight to their exhibition game in Kentucky.

Remember when Danny was trying to trade for him? Looks like he dodged a bullet. Would have been embarrassing having another Vin Baker situation.

I don't remember when Ainge was trying to trade for Lawson. Please refresh my memory. It must have been quite a few years ago, before Lawson's multiple DUIs and the serious decline in his performance.

There were some rumors in I think 2013. Never got the impression that it was very serious though

The year we got IT, we were also interested in Lawson, who was playing about as well, or maybe better. Denver's price was two first-rounders (which they'd gotten for Mozgov, improbably), we balked. Traded for IT instead. It was around then Lawson started to have visible, public problems.

Yeah it was before Isaiah. Reported by Zach Lowe back in early 2015.

Yeah. He was the alternative to I.T along with Dragic. I will put my hands up and say I preferred Lawson..good thing I'm not the GM LOL.

I like Snell-for-MCW for the Bucks. Snell can really shoot. Worst case scenario, he gives the Bucks spacing which is a weak point. Best case scenario, he taps into his ability to be a 3&D guy.

MCW seems like a nice kid but he's also the most unpleasant flavor of player - both mediocre and ball-dominant.

He's also not a nice kid, he was an egotistical jackass in Philly.

You think the ROY award gassed him up? Or was he just like that? This is his third team while still in his rookie contract. He's being passed around like a hot potato. That's got to effect him at this point.

Actually I think Chicago won this deal. Players like Snell are a dime a dozen; 6-6 point guards are not, even if they can't shoot. MCW is insurance for the Bulls if Rondo starts to act up. Rondo couldn't wrest control of the Mavs away from Carlisle, but he might give a second-year coach like Hoiberg major headaches.

My friend who went to high school with him said he was always a huge jackass, even dating back to then. I guess a lot of people he went to high school with are hoping he fizzles out of the league.

I know a few people like him. Not many but a few. We'll, I knew a few people like him. Gone like magic.
