Jennings is not exactly J. Kidd out there either, he's also a score 1st PG.

IMO he is in the John Wall Mode (ofcourse not as good!) Scoring point who also has a passing mentality. You can see Jennings takes as much pride in a dazzling assist as he does with drive to the hoop. We may have lucked out and caught him at just the right time. A time were he has matured enough to impact the game in several ways. Keep in mind that he has never been on a team with this kind of offensive talent. Had he not been injured he was already on his way to playing like this...

We have very different views of Jennings, he does not play like Wall, his game is very similar to Rose except he's not the finisher that Rose once was.

My point was that he is a willing passer who also likes to score. If that makes him similar to Rose in your eyes, so be it.

i just find it funny how people choose to ignore ennings' career which has been nothing but bad basketball, and make up things like 'he's good'

ennings is bad, a flashy point guard that just shows everyone here would rather see a 360 dunk than a layup. i can't wait until ennings costs the knicks a game because he opted to do a flashy pass that resulted in a turnover instead of a simple bounce pass.

derrick rose with all his knee problems is still way better than ennings.

nice how you chose to ignore the fact that he made strides under Van Gundy, was recovering from injury during his last stop so, maybe you should stop judging him on old shyt. Players mature, the develop and there is something to be said for playing in a place you love.

u think ennings has a positive outlook as a backup PG at least? Or that there is no positive role for him in the NBA outside of a end of bench body (amundson).

I personally think hes been only ok this preseason but have lots of hope off the bench. He was great in the 1st game he started. Ok in the 2nd one he started. And bad in the boston game even though his numbers were ok. I was at the boston game and he was having no impact on the game, struggling to drive against bostons guards. I was surprised to see his stat line after the game. Everyone in the postgame thread seemed to be pleased with his performance.

I also am skeptical of Jennings being a starting point guard at all. He seems to be worse on defense, especially given his lack of strength, than Rose and, on top of that, even more out of control. Great backup pg though. I hope he has matured and gets to the point where he could be starter level but not holding my breath for it to happen.

he has promise as a bench player. i agree, he really hasn't been anything more than "ok" this preseason. he's shot horribly, he's a poor finisher, to his credit he's had some nice ronde-esque passes in transition and that's really the only thing that's holding him above water. that he's had some nice assists & celebrations sprinkled throughout the 4 games.

I didnt want to be the one to respond to the troll. Besides his FG% Jennings is good. Also he was making super strides under Van Gundy.

For such a flashy passer he has not averaged 3 turnovers for his career. Most he's averaged is 2.7 in 31 minutes. Some people just know how to hate instead of looking at the positives he brings to this ball club. Haters will hate trollers will troll.
